This post has been modified due to Charlie being a backstabber.

But I'm thinking, I'd rather have James T beside me in a bar room brawl, or when I need dating advice, but when fighting the Borg? Picard. That's the one I'd want to be onboard a ship with. Even though those Enterprise guys always attract the worst kind of alien crud.

Personally, I'm going to have to go with Picard. I was born in 1984, and Picard was the captain I grew up with, although I have been able to see plenty of TOS in my time. I highly doubt that there actually can be a way to settle the Kirk vs. Picard debate. They're two very different characters for two different times. Kirk was more gung-ho to me. He wasn't afraid to charge into battle. Picard was more of a peacemaker, although he's gotten into his share of fisticuffs too. TOS was made in the 1960s. The space program was really kicking thanks to the space race of that time. Kirk to me represents that. The show showed eagerness to explore and hunger for adventure. TNG debuted in 1987. To me, it reflected the times. At that point, we knew a lot more about our intergalactic neighbors, technology had advanced greatly. The show was still about exploration, but the Starfleet of TNG was older and wiser. The shows and the captains are from two different times. Sorry if I didn't get my message across. I knew what I wanted to say, but I sometimes don't get it right in written form.

I forgot it debuted the same year I was born. That's got to mean something...like the stars hate me and whatnot. Yeah, Kirk vs. Picard will never be resolved because when all the cards fall it's still a personal preference. But it sure is fun to pretend!

well this has probably gone on long enough, shall I just lock the poll now and declare the winner? Of all the power hungry things...this poll will never be locked! NEVER! You go on and do it, though. See what happens.

Alright Ramon. You can STOP making fake accounts now. Charlie look what I just found! They talk of a man betraying his country, his friends, his sweetheart. There must be a moral bond first. All a man can betray is his conscience. Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) British novelist. ;D

So Ramon is Picard, so I guess Charlie is your Number One.
I just need a Spock and your going down.

Kirk is far more accomplished. By accomplished I mean he is the much bigger badass.

Could you tell me one. more. time. who you voted for Charlie? Just to finalize it? More accomplished indeed. I can't be Spock. I'm too emotional. Out of the 3, I would probably be McCoy. I could never be Kirk because he's far too awesome.

McCoy is pure awesome, FYI. Better than any of the TNG crew combined.

Hahaha I already know that, FYI. TOS just wouldn't be the same without the good doctor! Kirk though...can't be beat in the awesome department.

in an episode of tng yesterday data beat some alien guy at a video game thing and said, "I busted him up". When did Kirk ever say something that awesome? Data rules.

Ok what would to find is a Spock and Bones. Because we all know the Trinity will NEVER ever be defeated.
But like Kirk said in Final Frontier...I'll die alone.
And in Generations...Kirk's recorded death was aboard the Enterprise B's maiden voyage. He was alone. On the damn planet he was without his 'brothers'
"...it was...fun"
