Is there an optimal reading order for the DC2 works? I'd like to get the most out of the works here.
For example, when I picked up the Action Comics to start, I had to go through a bunch of the Superman stories to get the continuity right. Now that I'm at the issue 9 of Action comics, I clearly have to go peruse a bunch of the other works to get the backstories.
Any advice?

Well, hopefully, since each issue is always somebody's first issue, it should try and be accessible as possible, trying to recap what's gone before to some extent (e.g. Suicide Squad tends to have a recap at the beginning). Having said that, that's not always the case, so, assuming you've not got the time to start from issue 1, it's usually worth starting from the beginning of the current story (which you can hopefully work out from the title). If that doesn't make any sense to you, then it might be worth mentioning it on the letters page, just so that the editor and writer of the title know of the problem, and also so that they can suggest which issues would fill in the gaps for you (which will vary from series to series). Also, worth checking out is our Who's Who title for background information on various characters (although this is by no means comprehensive), and the character list for a quick, yet incomplete, overview of where some characters can be found.

I think this raises a good point though; maybe it would be a good idea to maintain some kind of character pages which summarize that character's involvement in the DC2? A little bit like having a DC2 wiki? Just a thought, probably a lot of work to maintain though.

Action Comics and Superman is a little bit confusing. They had a crossover on their first issues, then there was a crisis and finally one of them was cancelled. About the Crisis, there is a DC2 Collected Edition (number 1) that has the first Crisis in order, since it was posted in different issues throughou it's course. www.dc2universe.net/index.cgi?board=newgreenlantern . Here there are three different titles. The first one to read is Tales of the Green Lanterns, then the Green Lantern title itself. The Special is optional. There was a New Outsiders/Teen titans crossover in the past, but you can just read one. And this year's Crisis has one title for itself, and the tie ins have a logo. That's all. Hope it helps. OwOwO Oh, and welcome to the site. Hope you have fun!

Well, Masoud and I are currently in the process of setting something like this up, which will feature details of the characters used and their appearances. It's still very much in the formative stages, but you can check it out (and apply to be a writer there, should you wish) at: dc2universe.wetpaint.com

its kinda hard to read like that, maybe if you lowered the contrast a little or something...
if not that, maybe giving the boxes semi transparent white boxes that way it stands out more.
