I don't know what has been touched in the DC2 series--I have only read a bit of it--but I was thinking about some things with speed when I was researching the theories of "Faster-Than-Light" (when refering to space theory).
So don't think me a dork, but I had gotten to thinking on a lot of stuff...and though I've failed physics before and barely passed my other classes and tests, I'm pretty good with thinking conceptually. So I wanted to think of other things speedsters could do.
First I was thinking of what the Flashes could do because of speed, like:
Phasing: Originally explained to be Flashes matching vibrations and slipping their molecules through things, though scientifically this is wrong...matching vibrations would make both objects the same so it'd be like pushing against a wall...but later explained by speeding up ones molecules faster than the object like Zoom I's vibrating death hand trick
Explosions: Like When Wally's vibrating got too powerful and he sped up molecules so much that the things he went through exploded
Defying physics: Running on water, running up buildings, etc
Manipulating Air: Creating wind funnels, drafts, tornadoes, etc
Quick reflexes: Which give them the chance to take strong blows because they can use physics and the right movement to take away the effect and strength of the blows.
Flight: Johnny Quick and Jesse Quick had flight by going fast enough and propelling themselves into the air. I don't remember whether they could continue flight once off the ground though.
Also, there has been the creator-made abilities like:
Molecule Control: Barry learned to control his molecules much better than any other Flash, and that helped him phase through things better than anyone, and it also allowed him to do impossible things like escape having been turned into a mirror by "melting" his molecules.
Turning into Kinetic Energy: When traveling faster than light, Wally has come into a few circumstances where he ends up turning into kinetic energy. Plus his suit was once made of kinetic energy. And who can forget that Barry is said to have ran himself to death at the end of the first Crisis, and actually be turned into Kinetic Energy, which became the very bolt of lightning that hit him in the first place.
Lending and Stealing Speed: I don't know if this was explained, but I don't understand it...all I remember is that Savitar and the Dark Flash/ Walter West knew how to do it, and later Wally learned through Walter.
Fusion: Wally and Walter merged into one being with shared thoughts since they are almost identical, just of different dimensional vibrations (though if either of them slipped their new vibration, they would explode).
Also, a future Flash (I believe his name was Jace, and he had a costume inspired by Jay Garrick) did a pseudo-merged with Jesse Quick, phasing in the same place to create dangerous static energy (a trick of Jace's supposed arsenal of speed tricks).
Creating Afterimages: I suppose the Flashes move so fast that a normal eye takes time to register he has moved.
Creating Speed Scouts: Bart creates energy beings of speed energy to do his bidding through time.
Aura: An invisible speed force aura that protects the speedsters from friction.
Now there's was some other things i was thinking about when reading FTL theories and how it'd effect the Flashes:
Infinite Mass: Wally had an infinite Mass Punch, which is theoretically possible: the faster an object moves, the more mass it obtains, until, going at faster than light speeds, it is infinitely more massive.
I was thinking that, if Flash were to vibrate himself to FTL speeds, he could use this to make himself extremely dense, immovable, and able to withstand strong blows while "standing still". I don't know if this makes sense though because I think he may actually have to move to gather kinetic energy and only then would he obtain mass.
Also, I was thinking that there would be an element of heat thrown in: When vibrating at extremely high levels, molecules of solid objects change into gas and then plasma right? Or something like that I believe. Wouldn't that make the Flashes hotter as well when come up to those high vibrations? Theoretically, they could use their own bodies to burn or heat things. And now that I write this, I think I remember seeing this on one of the cartoons (Either JL or Teen Titans)...I think Wally burns an enemy by creating a lot of friction heat...but I think the heat could be more than just friction heat, potentially...
I kinda lost the rest of my thoughts...so I'll continue this later. But please, add in! I don't like to make a "class" out of fun things like fictional superbeings but I like to think deeply of what characters are possible of...
