Just added to my pull list:
Green Arrow (even though I think Judd Winnick is awful, the Smith and Meltzer trades got me hooked, and I can't stand an incomplete collection)
Catwoman (those Adam Hughes covers...! Hey, I'm only human!)

They WERE great runs. Meltzer's twist was jaw dropping. Completely out of left field and I can normally spot these things a mile away. Judd Winick has grown on me a bit since starting GA, once you get past the GL crossover. Staight Shooter was especially good.

So I mentioned George R R Martin a couple of weeks ago. Went to see him on Wednesday and it was really good. So anyway, I'm reading the new book 'A Feast for Crows' and I found this on page 203. They are talking about heraldry - looking at a selection of shields.
"She saw two centaurs, a thunderbolt, a blue beetle and a green arrow."
This man just goes up and up in my estimation.

Books I am dropping:
JLA Classified Batman Outsiders Superman/Batman Aquaman Catwoman Checkmate The Flash Green Arrow Supergirl Supergirl and the Legion of Super Heroes Red Sonja Hellblazer New Avengers
Books on the cusp:
Hawkgirl (So disappointed in this!) Wonder Woman (Ditto)
Books that I'm keeping:
(These titles are my favorite!) Justice Society of America (*****) (the only book I read twice) All-Star Superman (*****) (always original and provocative)
(I can't wait to read these every month!) Green Lantern (****) Birds of Prey (****) Fables (****) Jack of Fables (****) Justice League of America (****) (it's moving slowly, but a good read) All-New Atom (****) (wacky page-turner)
(I read these when I have the time) Detective Comics (***) (far superior, imo, to Batman) Manhunter (***) (best book no one is reading) Nightwing (***) Green Lantern Corps (***) (this latest arc is really good) JSA Classified (***) (reliably good) Shadowpact (***) (really not sure why I'm reading this...) Blue Beetle (***) (this one snuck-up on me---thanks, Ramon) Teen Titans (***) (when this is good, it's very good, but when it's bad...) Conan (***) Rex Mundi (***)

Well, you name it with DC and I'm getting it. Including every mini that has come out. The only one's I've considered dropping are Hawkgirl and Supergirl. But I think this is my mid-life crisis. Instead of buying a sports car, I'm just buying up every DC comic I can find. Marvel is another story. All the main Spider-Man titles, and Captain America. Two of the X titles. That's about it. I read Civil War in the shop. My biggest thing right now is buying up trades. I just finished the last one of Fables and have found this to be my favorite of them all. Y the Last Man is great. Nearing the end of the Starman run. Jack has just finished up his time in deep space. Also picked up the first volume of Preacher, Planetary, and Morrison's Doom Patrol. OH, and volume one of For Queen and Country as well. And The Walking Dead. I'm telling you... mid life crisis.

There was a time in the mid to late 90s when I collected like, half DC's line, some Image, some Dark Horse, and a scattering of independents. The Batbook and Titans editors knew my name well, and published me often. I was a champion of Time Drake/Robin, then of the Tim/Stephanie relationship, then of Terra II. I was even moderately interested in Wildstorm once it came to DC. At Vertigo I read Sandman and Invisibles. I tried to read Doom Patrol when McKeever was drawing it. I ran away fast.
That was a long time ago.
Now I'm down to exactly one book. Teen Titans. And events anticipated in 52 will probably cause me to drop that one.
It is no accident that I am eagerly devouring everything DC2 except Superman. It is also no accident that I jumped at a chance to do Titans elseworlds with a good Terra as a centerpiece.
But then, anyone whose read any of my posts already knows all this. I'm reapeating myself. First sign of madness, they say....but who are they? *runs away*

Jesus I'm cheap compared to you guys...
Well, I've bought graphic novels occassionally that range from X-men to Shadowpact...
but the comics I buy every wednesday?
DC
52, JSA, was picking up the Helmet of Fate series to keep me in the magic genre of DC, got the first 7 Shadowpact in the graphic novel...I think that's it...the rest I read in the shop...like Teen Titans, JLA, Trials of Shazam (just to see what happens)
Marvel
Stayed with Civil War for a little while (just the main comic, not the tie ins), was on and off with Astonishing X-Men, I stayed faithful to Ultimates 2 (and still want the last one), and I think thats it...
I rarely read anything else...unless I can buy or borrow a TPB from the comic story or NY public libraries...

Waiting for the last issue of Ultimates 2, it like waiting for Lex Luthor is grow hair or waiting for the next issue of Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk or waiting for Civil War to make sense . Mischief
