Enough about the EiCs, what do people think about the folks wreaking all this havoc?
(BTW, I know that there are many more choices, and the temptation is to write in a candidate, but for the purposes of this poll, please choose your favorites from this list!)

This was a tough one for me, because I enjoy the works of most of the writers on this list. I chose Johns simply because, despite the fact that I hold him responsible for the qualified failure of Infinite Crisis, he consistently puts out the stories I enjoy reading the most.
Paradoxically, two writers who've never disappointed: Gail Simone and Joss Whedon.
But, on the strength of JSA, Green Lantern, Teen Titans and 52, I have to go with Geoff.

I can't vote; Geoff, Morrison, Simone and Dini have all done things I liked at one point or other.
Geoff gets honorable mention because he did have plans for Terra 2 (that Didio shot down). So I suppose I should vote for him.

Tough call... I voted for Geoff because of Rebirth and the title since, Titans, JSA.. all that good stuff. Simone was a very close second just because of how amazingly well done secret six was and I also like how Marz has been doing Ion which is the only book i actually buy on a regular basis. Of course if ASBARTBW was more consistant this whole post would be different.

I voted Brubaker because his Iron Fist, Daredevil, Captain America and Uncanny X-Men are consistently top-notch. The only book by Johns that I like is JSA. That is one of the best books out there right now. I just don't think he is very consistent when it comes to his other books.

I voted for Bendis. He is the guy that will try anything. He killed Ant-Man with Jacks of Heart. He finished off with John Bryne's started and will continue to push the envelope with his stories. And Ultimate is cool too.
Johns with his run on Teen Titans, JSA, GL are awesome. The same goes for Judd Winick on Outsiders, which is one of my favorite DC books period, Green Arrow and Trial of Shazam.
And Brad Meltzer is one of the best writers. I loved and I mean ABSOLUTELY loved his Identity Crisis series. I say that with a passion.

metzler for me is very hit and miss. i liked archers quest, though identity crisis was... "unique" but jla? it has taken like 108124 issues for them to walk out the door and pick up the paper.

I think Metlzer is writing his runs more like novels than comic books. I HATED his debut JL arc (loved #0 though) and dropped it as of #4 (picked up #5 for 50p though) and then I read #6 and *CLICK* it was beautiful. Everything worked. Everything paid off. Well, I say everything, because Geo-Force is on the move! Oh, yes he is!!
I'm torn with my love of anything James Robinson does (one of my all time favourite Batman one shots was written by him) and Joss Whedon and, of course, my love of Ed Brubaker's run on Gotham Central...

this is a really tough call, because there's very few on that list that I don't like. In the end, though, I went with Gail Simone. She's always been consistently great for me. BoP is still in my top three, Welcome to Tranquility is my favorite new series, and she actually got me to like someone else as The Atom. I like her style and her stories.
Johns, and Brubaker are probably tied for second on my list, with Joss coming in third. Loved this first issue of Buffy (pure Whedon) and his run on AXM has been awesome.

I'm still a huge Geoff John's fan...
Though if there was a David Charlton spot up there I'd have voted with him...

Well, I was tempted to go for Simone or Whedon, but finally went for Grant Morrison because of his work on All-Star Superman, although if Peter David had been on the list I'd have voted for him instead.

No suckin' up here... I truly am a fanboy! Thank you, Scott! Little people like Ramon can't stand to see others (well, okay, maybe just me) appreciated. On account of him being so little (brother's like 3 foot!) . And right back atcha, Wang! Your work never disappoints, and has a way of making the old and familiar new and exciting! Plus, you draw real pretty. I'm a fan for life. And now for Ramon's regularly schedule derision...

I love everybody!
My tops are Mark Millar, Grant Morrison and Ed Brubaker, and usually Gail Simone and Joss Whedon. Great writers nowadays

I went with Johns. Despite the disappointment of Infinite Crisis I still think it was a pertty ballsy move to re-touch the original crisis in such a big way. Plus most of his stuff is fantastic. Re-Birth was great and Titans is consistently good. He also made a good effort towards making sense of Power Girl's history.

I'm really liking Gail Simone's Welcome to Tranquility right now. It's one of the two titles I'm most excited about each month. The other is Jonah Hex, but since Jimmy and Justin aren't on the list she gets my vote... But if Garth Ennis was on the list, no one could compete. (I found out about Hitman, what else can I say? )

Sorry, the correct answer is Who is Gail Simone? That's the end of round one in jeopardy. I'm Alex... uh, I have no idea how to spell his last name... Seriously though, Welcome to Tranquility is a great book with a lot of mystery and suspense. I'm liking it more than Villains United, and BoP right now. The premise is a large number of heroes and villains have all retired in this small town in the middle of nowhere. One of their most famous residents is murdered in issue one, and so far the main character has been trying to solve the mystery behind his death. My favourite character is probably The Emoticon, I'm pretty sure he's meant to be a joke villain, but I can't stop liking him.

Another writer that I'm reading now is Ron Marz. I loving his run on Witchblade. And the artist Adriana Melo is just great too.

Peter David for serious storytelling,Jhonen Vasquez for outrageous and adult humor, and J. Torres for more childish and lighthearted humor. But of the choices there,I'm kinda torn between Gail and Geoff. Geoff can tell such great,action-packed stories, and is the guy to turn to to bring a character out of limbo and obscurity and turn them into an A-lister. At the same time though,he can be slightly inconsistant,or like with IC(with the exception of making me into a Power Girl fan) just drop the ball completely. Gail on the other hand is just totally consistant. And she focuses more on character interactions. And,while I'm not a fan of Cheshire basically turning on Lian, she writes the best Cheshire in over a decade.

Same here. Actually, the way I was introduced to this story was kind of wierd. I knew Hal as Parallax because I started getting into more mainstream DC around when Zero Hour started (before that I only read Robin, Superboy, and random Bat books), so I was introduced to Hal kind of like how Sinestro was originally introduced as a renegade GL. I had read about his backstory in Kyle's GL series, and then I finally read Emerald Twighlight and Kyle's origin story and thought it was good.
Out of that list I'll go with Geoff Johns just because he's breathing new life into the GL mythos and JSA is damn good, but everyone on that list is bringing their A game right now (though I've never really liked Joss Whedon's works). I think Adam Beechen is moving his way up the list of best writers right now, and Ron Marz' Ion was very enjoyable.
