I wasn't a big fan of his Day of Vengeance mini, but I like what I've been seeing recently. I will definately be getting the Dr. Fate ongoing.

I loved his fill-ins on The Flash. His Zoom was one of the best I've seen. Better than Scot Kollins IMO.

I loved his fill-ins on The Flash. His Zoom was one of the best I've seen. Better than Scot Kollins IMO. His painted cover of Creeper #1 is awesome. His stuff that are from his personal collection is awesome. I'm so happy that he is getting the attention and chance that he deserves. He is like a movie star to me, like many artists out there. I think he's great for Day of Vengence and Creeper because of that creepy feel he has in his work...and most of the time his work is very clean despite his style and I appreciate it. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I'd love to see him keep going

Another artist I like is E-Bas from Top Cow. I love is style. He is like the second coming of Marc Silvestri. And Mike Choi is the another one. I love his artwork in the current X-23 mini series.

I'd have to say my favorite is Jim Lee. Van Sciver, Easglesham, Benes, and Ross are some of my favorites as well, and I definitely can't forget George Perez, but Jim Lee's art would have to be my absolute favorite.

The most recent Aquaman issue... with Shawn Gulcy as the artist was horrible... is DC trying to kill the book on purpose?

I was thinking of all the new upcoming artists. Guys like Jim Lee, George Perez can sell any book on the strength of their names. They can take the time off and pick and choose the next project they want to do now. Other artists like Mike Turner has risen to the top with out really paying his dues. Guys like Lee and Perez have. Mark Bagley paid his dues. Bagley penciled more then 112 consecutive issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. Jim Blatent did 77 consecutive isses of Catwoman. I would like to see if any one else will top that in the mainstream.

Very good points Chief. Bagley's continuous run on USM has led to the consistency of the feel of the book, and it's either determination or loyalty or something that has kept him penciling for 112 straight issues (and an annual right?).

Mark Brooks handles the annuals.

Jay Anacleto is an artist that my wife slapped me and reminded me about him. She loves his work in Aria and Athena Inc. Recently he did Spawn: GodSlayer for McFarlane/Image Comics.

The artist that is doing Witchblade now Adriana Melo is just a great asset to that series. Another artist to keep an eye on is Stjepan Sejic from Top Cow. I just wished Top Cow produed posters that measured 24"X36" so I can have it framed on my wall, because walmart does not have 11"X17" frames.

I haven't heard of half of the guys mentioned. The other day I told my wife that Michael Golden was my all time favorite artist (since I have his Batman work dragged out, he's my favorite artist "at the moment" too), my wife says "I thought it was Jack Kirby." Tough call. Kirby is the all-round comics King, but I like Golden best when it comes to breath taking drawing chops. Paul Pope is my other obsession. My wife likes David Mack. I have to keep an eye her when they're at the same convention...

Mark Bagley is leaving after Ultimate Spider-Man #110 or #111. Plus he did some work on Ultimate Spider-Man One-Shot.

I was going to say Jim Lee but it's been so long since I saw his art published and you said right now so I went with Ed Benes. I can't get enough of his art! His art is similar to Lee's too (very detailed). Van Sciver just goes overboard sometimes with the detail and it makes the page look grungy. Also, if his stuff isn't color perfectly it looks terrible.

I really don't know much of artist, but I'll go with J.H Williams III. SSOV #1 was just incredibly amazing. Superior. Wow.
Owo.

JH Williams also recently did art on Detective Comics #821 (which looks really nice, great story too), and he will be drawing an arc of Batman starting in a few months.
