Hello, I could use some advice.
A couple years ago, I graduated from college with a AAS in Computer Information Technology. Today, I still work part-time in a local supermarket. I like the job, but I do wish for something with better pay and more hours.
The problem is...well, I have a lot of problems.
The thing is, I dread getting a 9-to-5 job. I dread the thought of having to get up early every weekday morning, put on a suit and tie, and have to spend time in an office. Personally, I heard a lot fo workplaces are loosening up on the dress code, so I am not too worried about that. A little, but not much.
My big fear is that I won't have a lot of time. I fear that if I get a full-time 40-hours-a-week job, I won't have time to enjoy my hobbies. In my spare time, I like to write and collect comics.
Also, I'm afraid I'll end up in a job that will make me completely miserable. I love computers, so I went for it in college. I want to get a job in that field, but I'm afraid I'll end up hating the job and wanting to do something else.
I know I need a full-time job, and I could use the money. The thing is, I don't know if I can handle a full-time job. What should I do?
Thanks for all the help!

Well, if you need the money that's pretty much all there is to it to be honest. Especially since you have a degree in computers, you should put it to use. I was working 12 hour days last summer without a day off, but I still managed to get some writing done. As for collecting comics, it would be easier to do it with more money. lol

In my experience after working full-time while going to college for 4 years is: You don't realize how much time you really waste when you have a lot of it. You find a way to make less time mean more if that makes sense.
I have duel degrees in Computer networking and business management. I gave up a chance at potentially a lot of money back in 2000 because I didn't want to have a job that consumed me and computers started to annoy me. I started a job at the Home Depot and have been there ever since. I make a decent salary now and won't make more unless I want to move up in the company, but I don't want to do that right now. The thing is I am happy (most of the time) and the money is pretty good for me and my family.
Do what makes you happy. The fact is, once you have enough money to live comfortably no additional amount will ever make you happier. You decide what kind of lifestyle you want to live and earn enough money to support it.
But thats all me. Hope it helps some though.
