Holy heck, I forgot to post a question!
Okay, Kara Zor-El was not the first Supergirl. The first character to carry that title was a Super-Girl that appeared for a single issue (Superman #123, 1958) and had a very unusual origin. What was it?

Jimmy Olsen gets this wish granting indian totem thing (like in the brady bunch) and he wishes for a blonde chick for superman to keep busy with. also he asks that she have powers like superman so he doesnt have to protect her. a pal indeed, unlike golden age batman and robin, jimmy and supes brought each others game to the next level. is that right?

Before Hal Jordan, the guardians confronted another human to become a member of the Green Lantern Corps but were turned down. Who was that person who turned down the guardians?

Oh man, I think that was a woman, but I don't remember her name. Her daughter fell into a frozen sea and she rescued her with the ring.
Man, how was her name....

no on all three. alan scott wasnt a member of the corps and it wasnt really confirmed that guy really did get the ring offered. he kinda just said that they asked him, but it's GUY GARDNER that claimed he denied them so c'mon...
a hint is that this one was an arkansas school teacher.
<modified> oh man, borize is damn close.

I just saw this last night while searching for art by Don Newton, So technically I found it on the internet, but I wasn't looking for it to answer this question. There were only a few panels of art there and I think you can figure out his name from that. The story was titled. "Earth's First Green Lantern" here's the link if ya want to see it. So I'm going to disqualify myself cause I found it on the net. www.donnewton.com/default.htm?main.asp

You're wrong. Guy was offered the last ring by Ganthet, but declined and they gave it to Kyle... From the Secret Files Green Lantern story by Marz.... Told from Guy's POV?
