You know, Nicholas Cage named his kid Kal-El. After Superman. ...That kid is going to get the living snot beaten out of him in school. I'm sorry, I just wanted opinions on it for some reason.

Mike Allred has a son named Han. And he apparently liked his name so much he named his son Anakin. Matter of perspective I guess. It could be a curse or super cool.

Creator of Madman and the Atomics. Artist on the insanely good X-Force/X-Statix run with Peter Milligan. Recently had his own DC Solo which featured one of the best Batman stories ever. Supplied artwork displayed in several Kevin Smith movies. That Mike Allred. And it's his grandson named Anakin, as in his son liked his Star Wars name so much he gave his son one. It's a matter of can you own it and make it work, or will you let the Negative Nancys of the world pull you down.

Speaking of Kevin Smith, he named his daughter Harley Quinn.

Simon and Garfunkel have to be one of the greatest and most prolific writing teams of our generation. Each song they did is chock full of beautiful imagery and messages but subtle and obvious.
that's my random thought for the day.

Simon and Garfunkel are classic and their sound is great and undeciably unique(Cecila is just a great song), but I've enjoyed Paul Simon more on his own. Graceland is one of my all-time favorite albums.

Most definitely Paul Simon's solo stuff is nothing less then brilliant. Graceland is a CD that I, too, have in my favorite pile. Not only that, but I will never forget the moment that he took the stage on SNL in a chicken costume and sang "Still Crazy..." Never even cracked a smile! I laugh every time I see the rerun of that.
For me, though, what he did with Garfunkel really defined a time in American history. Songs like "America", "Sounds of Silence", and "My Little Town", reflected that generations young people who could see the conflicts both at home and abroad for what they really were. At a time when this country was in the middle of a war that it couldn't win (at least in the way it was being dealt with by the government), and social unrest was coming to a head, they created a voice for those who could see the dangers that our leaders could not. So I guess that's why I tend to lean toward that stuff more, it just kind of speaks to me.

Peter Gabriel, talent or hack? Dated talent. Paul Simon, on the other hand... When he came on SNL for their first live show after 9/11 and sang "The Boxer"... I got goosebumps...

I had forgotten about that moment. Goosebumps all the way. I also remember the opening song of the VH1 concert that many singers joined in to do for the men and women of New York soon after 9/11. It opened with David Bowie sitting on a bare stage singing Simon & Garfunkel's "America". Another goosebump moment for me.
Music is the soundtrack of our lives. Can't remember who said it, but it sure is true.

I really doubt the hip hop community will accept alex ross and mark waid into their fold, they just don't have the personalities that emit that roughneck vibe. just watch out for when ice cube releases crisis on infinite earths, that's going to be nuts.

Why do people feel free to tell smokers that they are gonna get cancer, bu tthe same people would never walk up to 400 pounder in Burger King and tell them "y'know you are gonna get diabetes?"
