I myself prefer the hat 100%. I just don't like the hood. The hat differentiates him, he's not just the same as a hundred other heroes, he's Greem Arrow. The hat costume's better than the crappy hood ones too. Hats all the way.

actually Sam, my friend, we already had a thread started with this question. I bumped it up for you to see just how many agree with you. This way you'll know who all the cool cats around here are.

I like the hood because I figure it hides his identity better, and he has more of a mystique to him. For me, the hat makes him a Robin Hood wannabe....but the hood for me makes Robin Hood only an influence to Ollie.

Well the important thing to Ollie, is that Dinah loves the hat. She finds it sexy. And let's face it, if you had a gal looking like Dinah, wearing fish net stockings, telling you to keep the hat, would you listen to anyone else. ;D

Deja vu Easy Charlie, they werent here yet for the first time. The important thing is that you point themto Powers Inc #4 for the hat conversation there.

As was said in the last issue of Green Arrow - the hat is insipid! Just another boneheaded decision by Judd Winick... Why does DC give him any latitude?

He's the best writer Green Arrow's had this run, and the Red Hood storyline is one of the funniest books I've read. He's got an amazingly emotional story and he still manages to make it funny without breaking his stride. I just don't like the hooded costume. The hat is just cooler. It looks better, the costume he wears with it looks better, it suits Ollie 100% more. He's not a shady vigilante, he's Green Arrow for Chrissakes!

I like Jason Todd as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure if Judd can take all the credit there: after all, didn't he just pick up the ball that Jeph Loeb put in the air (but refused to run with) in Hush...? Nor do I think he's pulled off the Red Hood revival very well--- after all, just where did he go with it (and the "secret origin" story was downright dumb)? In his hands, Ollie has become, IMO, a smarmy, self-loathing and unlikable jerk, and his humor comes across more like sarcasm and a long set-up to a faux-clever quip (reminds me of Joss Whendon on his bitterest, most constipated Dickensian afternoon), but--- again--- I suppose that's just my opinion. Don't even get me started on his recent Shazam stuff...! But, to each his own! We can agree to disagree, Sam. I

As was said in the last issue of Green Arrow - the hat is insipid! Gonna believe the word of the guy who trained Deathstroke...? And more importantly... Gonna belive the word of a very small man named Natas? *tsk*

It was ok but Judd Winick's been on the book so long he can set up really good storylines and pull together amazing plots. And yeah Kevin Smith was great as well, but I like people who are willing to stay with a book so Winick gets my vote. And I don't *hate* Trials of Shazam either. I have only got #1 & #2. I think a lot of the things that Winick does like the reason for Jason Todd coming back and changing Shazam all about is because DC has told him to do it. I certainly got that feeling for Batman Annual.

Kevin Smith reinvigorated the character, Meltzer added more depth to him (Archers Quest is still in my eyes the greatest GA story EVER. Then maybe... Uh... City Walls from this book), and Judd carried it. Nowt against him for that!

I'm not a huge fan of Winik, myself. Although there are moments that he does actually impress me, most of his stuff is meh, at best. Smith's run was awesome, but the Arrow that I love the most goes back to the men, Dennis O' Neil and Mike Grell. Oh, and I enjoyed Meltzer as well. Personally, GA came with the hat. He was ment for the hat, but if the powers that be said to lose the hat... well I probably would... then have him go buy a new one! HA HA
