If this turns out to be a good movie, my head will explode. The screenplay is written by people who wrote the screenplays to The Core, Catwoman, The Island, and The Legend of Zorro, and most of Michael Bay's movies are crap.

I just for the life of me can't see how this concept will translate to live action without seeming a little like Power Rangers.
I love giant robots and the Transformers is a fun concept, but will it make any sense to see them fly into the air and turn into cars and dinosaurs without it just seeming really silly?

I wonder... are we getting generation 1 versions, or Robot's in Disguise/Armada/Cybertron crap? I say gimmie Generation 1 and make that movie announcer guy with his quasi-John Wayne voice do Optimus Prime! (He is still alive, right? Bad enough the guy that did Starscream/Cobra Commander is dead)

I have only a slight love for trucks and stuff turining into stuff in 2D, but the Beast Wars had a giant gorilla turning into a robot with a gun! thats class

I think what it is is that they are travelling through the universe (I dunno, to fight I guess) and humans only first see them when they land on Mars. then they come to Earth.

I've actually been following it very closely.
Nothing in the movie references or takes place on Mars, and nothing in the movie has anything to do with the teaser.
There will be both Autobots and Decepticons, and the plot they've revealed so far sounds very faithful to Generation One. Which is good, because as good as Beast Wars was: Cars turning into Giant Robots. That's it for me.
The reason the designs are a bit weird looking are that Bay requested that every peice of the car goes somewhere during the transformation, if a robot was turning into a car this would be the way it would happen.

beast wars ruled. they would even see those cavemen everyonce in a while which was cool. dinobot was a freaking badass.

I can't remember if it was one of those SNL shorts or where I saw it, but I saw one where the cars turned into robots while people were riding in them and blood squirted out everywhere. It was sweet.
