I have several arcs of Captain Marvel already pretty meticulously planned out. I think I'll wait til you guys do an ongoing and then wait for a couple of arcs for the character to be established before I submit to that. Also my story ideas are a little radical so I don't know if they'll be accepted. And I'd want them to be in-continuity. It's a puzzle.
I'll think about it for Doctor Fate though...

You'll have to ask the submissions editor! (johnelbe)

There's no word limit. Try to have a minimum of 6 pages in Times New Roman 12-point. (Then again, "Locked" had 8 chapters. The first was 4 pages. The 7th, aka 'the chapter that ate Tokyo' was 32!)
Shoot for at least 6.

Run away to the circus. Bizarro. Beppo. Fire under the big top (Bizarro's fault?). Superman saves the day. I think that sounds ok to me.

But might I suggest to a new talent such as yourself that you pitch a short story to the upcoming SHOWCASE title, that's especially for new readers and writers to present their work to the community! Are there any characters that have yet to be seen in the DC2 universe that I could base my story around? It's only fair that if you have a Showcase title you should use characters that aren't in any of the other books. Actually, it would be okay to use any character in DC2 continuity for a feature in Showcase. That's what that title is for, after all: writers who want a shot at a character but can't get into the regular title because the Title Queue is filled up (newly updated, btw). New characters would be fine, too, though. While just about any character can be used (from Batman to Zatanna), and the stories can take place just about anytime chronologically, they must remain firmly grounded in established DC2 continuity (or if using a character who hasn't yet debuted in the DC2, okayed by John or me).

As I said before the Shazam thing is something I have had planned for a very long time and it's a 3-arc storyline that I may use in the future if a spot opens up on the regular book. I will write it though, it's only a matter of time.
And, just so I know, is Tim Drake Robin in DC2? Did you miss Jason out?

There is no Robin in the DC2 as Dick Grayson became Nightwing in Teen Titans #2! But a lot can happen after a crisis... So maybe just maybe... Something might happen.

Exalt! Charlie is our resident "jack of all trades". His name has been seen in several issue's of several titles. He is a very talented young man.

Aha. What's exalt/smite by the way? Does it have something to do with karma?

Yes. You can give or take away someone else's karma, point by point.

I have written...
Action Comics #1-6 Adventures of Superman 4-5 Batman #0-4 & #8-9 Detective #9 The Flash #0-3 & #7-9 The Question Quarterly #1-3 Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Special #1: Facets Elseworlds Versus #1
I have co written:
Powers, Inc #2-3 Teen Titans #4
And after listing what I've written, I'm now going to go sit in a dark room and rock back and forth whistling The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary.
*shudder*

Wow did this thread really just start yesterday? Welcome Spiderfan! First off, thanks for checking out the Squad!(it means so much to Charlie ) BTW the conclusion to the second SS story arc posts tonight so check it out! It's chock full of twists and surprises like the death of Rick Flagg (finally) On to business: 1) The Batman books will be the place to be in DC2 Year two. The Bat team is coming up with some exciting stories that are sure to blow the roof off! There still may be time to hop on board before the train leaves the station. 2) David nailed it on the head with the new DC2 Showcase title. It will be a chance for new writers (as well as DC2 vets) to tell stories set in the DC2 universe without having to wait for a character or title to open up. It will also be the place to tell tales about characters that may not otherwise be featured anywhere else. My hope is for it to run monthly with one main tale and 2-3 back-up tales just to give it that classic Showcase feel. In my recent short absence I began to plot out over 10 delicious short tales, some of which are down right wacky! So I think the Jimmy Olsen tale could be perfect! So the unofficial word is out there! Start getting those creative juices flowing and hop on board to what's sure to be one of the coolest DC2 titles in year two! That is of course if we all survive the upcoming crisis

Oh yeah, it only started yesterday. I'm a talker. What's the point in having a forum if nobody posts.
SS is really cool, but I've not got farther than the first arc yet as I'm reading all of Wonder Woman today. I've never really read the character much before so it's a real blast. It's got a great "So you think everything's ok now? BANG!" feeling to it.

The writer of Wonder Woman is our fearless leader and one of the primary creators of this site. He's an amazing writer and a very good fellow. I've learned a lot from him in the time I've been here. ...and no, Charlie, that wasn't a suck up, that was truth.

I would compare coming into DC2 now like being introduced to comics for the first time. Now matter where you turn next, you are sure to be entertained! Edit: As far as sucking up goes there is nothing wrong with it Brian. At least you went straight to the top and one of the best there is. (See I kinda threw myself in the mix there) But like Brian said, it's the truth. Of course Brian is one of the best too along with so many others here. So it's a suck fest but the good kind! ...Did that sound wrong? If it did I am sure Ramon or Charlie will let me know!

Just flicked through the illustrated specials and saw Chloe Sullivan as a DEO agent, which issues of what series do I have to read to get the big scoop on DEO. I ask which series as they were mentioned in SS I think.

Hey Spiderfan!
Chloe's first DC2 appearance was in Superboy & the Legion of Super-Heroes. That set her on her path. She next appeared in Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #3 - 5 & 7. I think she may have made an appearance in Adventures of Superman or Action Comics as well, but I don't know specific #'s!
I'm Scott, BTW, I write Tales of the GLC, LSH, Superboy & the LSH, JSA: A Legends End (elseworlds) and the upcoming Green Lantern series. (Figured I'd throw my hat into the shameless plug ring)
Her role will continue to grow throughout the upcoming year after our Crisis crossover!

You will find that is just Charlie being Charlie. Read the Question and you will understand. I take that back. If you read the Question you probably will understand less but things might make more sense!

He he. This thread is getting pretty long. Maybe somebody should start another. This has just become the general chat thread.
I recommended the site to a couple buddies of mine today as well today, so we may see a new person or two singing up and reading in the near future.
