I was reading 52 #2, And I can't help but think.
(SPOILERS)
In the first couple pages, Ralph Dibny is investigating something on his wife's tombstone, when he's greeted by the groundskeeper. The groundskeeper tells Ralph he's a big fan of Elongated Man. He reminds Ralph of an old case where he had to rescue his kidnapped brother from a moving rollercoaster.

I started to think after reading that maybe that maybe the Elongated Man ends up going the way of the Flash, Atom, Blue Beetle, and Green Lantern, and ends up getting a legacy as well.
