Not post of what party or movement is better, but what political party are the diffrent DC heroes?
Hawkman would be Greenpeace.
Is WW a communist? She grew up in a socialist/communist society of a type. Though they call it a THeocracy or a Monarchy is was really very socialist.
Where do you think the heroes stand? Who voted for W?

Where do you think the heroes stand? Who voted for W? DC didn't have a Dubya. They had Lex. Kinda similar, but still different.

Strong on defense, but more liberal on social issues. They voted for Reagan because of his personality and strong military stance. They still had democractic ideas on social issues.

thanks artteach for clarifying that. The guy won fifty states (i think, i might be wrong it was atleast close to it)so there had to be some moderates and dems voting for him.
Please, everyone after the debacle that was the religion thread, can we stay on topic and not get into any big debates here?

I think Superman voted for the Liberal Conservative Party. Batman voted for the United Political Party. Wonder Woman didn't vote, because Paradis Island isn't a democracy. Green Arrow voted for the Left Wingers. And Hawkman voted for both wings .

Yeah thats actually closer to what I meant for Supes. Reaqgan Democrat is probably not good terminology. More like Conservative Democrat would be more apropriate.

The Question probably doesn't vote because it would mean registering with the government.
He would be an ultra conservative tear down big government kind of guy.

I don't know about Hal... since he's a military man (not that Democrat's can't be military, but I totally buy into him being a Reagan & Bush Sr. guy), I'd probably say Republican, though I couldn't disagree with him more... Does this mean I have a split personality Wait, I decided that he voted Independant after realizing his mistake in voting for W the first time & since Kerry had the personality of a dead goldfish.

Hal would be a reflex Republican in my mind. Not really deep into politics so when he votes he punches the ticket and gets back to work.
Green Arrow would have the "Don't blame me I voted for Kerry" bumper sticker.
Wally probably watches The Daily Show and considers it all the news he needs.
Question doesn't watch any news because it all controlled by big business.
I personally would never remove my Bush Cheaney 00 and 04 stickers. Go W!!! Whoo Yeah Baby Jeb Bush in 08! <stops as he hears the sounds of torches lighting> Nevermind

Batgirl is probably a conservative Democrat, and Huntress is a liberal Republican. As for Ollie, although he probably does vote along liberal lines, I'd like to think that Ollie has issue's with both parties. With everything that is happening in this country, a large part of the problem is that both major parties are way to concerned about making sure they are on top, catering to the special interest groups, and playing the blame game with each other, to really care about the erosion of America and its people. That's where I think Ollie stands...or maybe I'm just "transferring".

I could see Ollie as a Libertarian.
I'm not sure what Aquaman is. Atlantis isn't really a monarchy as the power of the King is balanced by the High Council. There isn't a monetary system and all citizens are equal and basic needs are met so I'm guessing the city is a type of utopian socialism. But since its fall as a transhumanist society, the power has swayed in and out of a militaristic state so at times in its history it has been a dystopia. So, uh, what is that party? ;D

I have thought this over a lot.
Batman would have to be a Republican (maybe its because I want him to be because I am) becasue of his obvious pro-life views, and he has shown a dislike towards a governmental control. And the biggest reason of all is because how stubborn he is.
Superman I think would be a Democrat. He looks for more peaceful means to end stuff first and he lets people make their own choice without his influence even when it is wrong, for example letting Lex Luthor become President.

Batman has obvious pro-life views? I thought most heroes would be pro-choice, personally... Why are they obvious?

This is not to fuel the fire on a pro life/choice debate but:
Batman doesn't believe in killing could be one way to look at it.

Yeah, I don't want to get into a prolife/prochoice argument (look what religion did to us! It tore us apart!) but I would think that... Batman is open to everything. I dunno. I just don't believe his views would be there.

I just don't believe his views would be there. Well I for one never understood why the Pro/Pro debate was tied to politics. As for Batman I don't believe in his entire fictional existence has he ever been consistently portrayed as someone who is "open to everything" Not even close. I don't need my favorite characters to share in my beliefs to like them. Green Arrow is a prime example. But since most interesting views are off limits in comics we can only speculate. We can only do that using what we believe characters stand for. I think Batman is one of the easiest to do that with right along with Oliver "Lefty" Queen.

I think a good way to gauge where some of the characters are politically is to see who is at odds with Ollie. Ollie is well known for his politics and cooonstantly bickers with Hawkman and Batman. In Identity Crises Wally even asks Ollie if him and Hawkman didnt get along because of the mindwipes or because of politics and Ollie answers that they are basically the same. I am not saying that makes the pro mindwipe Leaguers righties but it does make them more...eh.. hawkish(get it? Hawkman?) I think it is a characteristic of one party over another to do whatever it takes to get the job done as opposed to do whatever it takes to do it a certain even at your own cost. The sides taken over Wonder Woman's decision to kill Max Lord is another good example. I view her actions there and beyond into Infinite Crisis as very right leaning defense wise. Batman being against that is a sign of him leaning left but it's hard to say. In Kingdom Come I could really see him being more of a rightie. Superman I think is a tough one because he seems afraid to be one way or the other because of the influence he could have but feels he doesnt deserve. Thats why I said earlier he would be a little bit of both. All in all I geuss it depends on who's writing the characters.

Who do you think Oracle would be with? That's a tough one because she would know the dirt on every single party so I wouldn't be surprised if she just didn't have a side..
