If you were being forced to watch one of these movies (the worst in both series) which would you choose? Both got abyssimal ratings.
I'll have to go with Batman & Robin. At least it made sense.

B & R hurt my brain too much and the wound is still fresh. I think by now I could watch S4 and at least laugh about it.

Batman & Robin because Batgirl was in it, although they changed her background, and it didn't hurt that Alicia Silverstone was playing her.

I don't think I've ever actually seen Superman IV, is that the one with Richard Prior in it?

I think it's the Nuclear Man one. Not a bad concept for a villain though...

Things I hated about Batman 4...
Ummm... everything!
"Suit me up uncle Alfred" - SHUT UP! Bat Nipples... come on! Ahnuld... groan. Uma... her worst movie EVER! Bane... groan again. Wax lips. Dr. Ross as Bruce Wayne. I expected him to perform CPR & crack open Alfred's chest.
Basically the whole thing blew from start to finish.

Batman and Robin has way more ridiculous scenes and dialogue than Superman 4 even though Batman is supposed to be a more realistic superhero than Superman. Half the buildings in Batman and Robin are 10 mile high skyscrapers. They’re able to survive huge falls. The Batmobile is extremely bright, you can see it from miles away. Batgirl’s origin is just so incredibly idiotic. Alfred’s computer, which contains all of Batman’s secrets, is protected by a three letter password. They totally ruined Mr. Freeze. Oh and there’s this:

To be fair... it was not soley schuemachers fault. after the horrific crapasterpeice that was Batman Returns, the studio wanted the next installment to be more kid freindly and be able to sell a load of merchandise. was it? did it? hell yeah. What kid wants to play with a danny devito action figure? what parent wants to buy their kid an s&m action figure?

No, the batcard was from Batman and Robin. That was just a lame reference to Batman Forever. The movie is full of stupid references like Clooney's joke about Superman not having a partner.

Ramon is right, Warner Bros. is just as much to blame for Batman's 3 & 4 then the director.
I finally went with Superman 4. My reason was simple. It didn't have George Clooney in it. I mean Batman 4 was horrible in so many ways, but at the center was Clooney, and he just stunk as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Batman Returns is actually on TBS (in America) right now. I really don't think it's that great of a movie. I really believe that of the 4 movies in that series, only the first actually does Batman justice.

Okay, let me get this explain that, Tim Burton has absolutely no business making Batman movies. He go the deal based on his work on Pee Wee Herman (I am pretty sure) but the guy admittedly doesnt read comic books so how the hell was he supposed to make it well if he doesnt read source material? Also they may have done well financially but I think it would have been hard for him to fail at the time it came out, with the stars he had in it, and the budget he was given to acheive his "vision."To some extend, i can still see Batman Forever and Batman and Robin on TV and just laugh at it because its so awful, but every time i see those first too I can't help but cringe. I mean in Batman I can ignore the fact that Bruce Wayne pulls all those Batman moments in the room with Joker, look the other way when Joker kills Bruces parents (causing EVERYONE of my generation to think that Batman Begins was "wrong") and I can stomach the Joker dying at the end, but the f**king BATDANCE?!?! At least the batusi has soul, the batdance made no sense at all. The one thing I think worked was Michael Keaton, but to me it didn't carry the movie. Returns I don't think I need to get into for you to see what is wrong with it, it is basically the anti thesis of the next too where it was so "dark" and so "moody" it was unwatchable to me. I would not have been surprised if in that movie, Bruce had Robert Smith hair and eyeshaddow it was such a cookie cutter Burton movie. If you want to talk about ruining characters, look at Catwoman and Penguin. In the comics, Penguin is refined but in the film he was a repulsive mutant who ate slugs and lived in the sewer... and rode a giant rubber duck. In the comics, Catwoman is a trained theif but in the film she is an abused secratary who has a lot of cats and a vinyl S&M suit. Not to mention the fact that it had Christopher Walker with human teeth cufflinks, Pee Wee Herman as the Jokers dad, and PENGUINS WITH ROCKETS STRAPPED TO THEIR BACK! Now I know you can say, "Well it was waay better than the other two," but at least the other two weren't so devoted to being a new vision of Batman that they completely through out everything about him and just rebuilt him, they knew it was campy fluff when they made it, they knew that they were probably going be jokes and so they went so far over the top at least I can respect the guts they had to make such an cheesy movie, Batman and Batman Returns tried WAAAY to hard to be serious and thought provoking that it I can no longer stand it.
Okay, rant.... over.

my my my Feel better? I agree that people who make movies should go to the source material. I mean you don't make a movie like Horse Whisperer and throw out the book that it's based on do you? Why do studios, directors, producers think that because they material that they are going to work with started as a comic that they have to redo it! If they would for one second stop being so full of themselves and actually read someone elses work instead of assuming (notice the first the letters of the preceding word) that they know better, we might actually get movies based on comic books instead of movies that are using a loose interpretation of a character appearing in a comic book. I have to vote for superman. Chris Reeve was trying, and it has one of the best movie lines ever, "me kill you now!" Plus the dinner party with Clark changing back and forth to Superman was pretty good. But then again every time I see Batman and Robin I can't wait for Uma to appear at the fundfaiser. I like Uma's entrance. No NO still voting for Superman.

There were even scenec in that movie right from the comics. Batman Begins finally showed the world the REAL Batman.
