Yep, been waiting for this one. After Kid Flash, the only original Titan left will be Wonder Girl so hopefully the cartoon will run long enough for them to include her. They've been running a storyline this season that's allowing them to introduce quite a few other Titans (Kole, Red Star, Jericho, Pantha, Argent, Herald, etc.). Quite a bit of fun I think.

hrm, I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Teen Titans cartoon, hell i am admittedly flat out not a fan of it, (the theme and anime conventions irk me) but maybe I'll take a look at it when that Kid Flash one comes on. I had a question about it though, what Robin is that they are doing, Dick or Tim? Also what Kid Flash is that?

Not sure about the Kid Flash but I wouldn't be surprised if they make it Bart. I might tune in for it myself, though. What I really don't care for is the relationship between Slade and Tim. I guess I'm a traditionalist.

Actually they've never said which Robin it is out right but have heavily hinted that it is Dick Grayson. So it could be Wally as Kid Flash but again, I'll doubt they'll say for sure.

I agree that the hints they've made strongly suggest Dick Grayson.
I HATED the show when it came out since it was such a departure from the DC animated Timm style. But the stories are just as deep and just as intense as the JL & Batman. I urge even those that aren't fans of the style to just give it a shot. The anime aspect of it has been seriously scaled down since the first season & with the upcoming appearance of Kid Flash & Jericho... well. Just give it a shot!

i know the costume is tim drake, but drake and starfire is just wrong. ;D ill definitely give it a shot now that the anime styling is down, and i think the timm departure is what turned me off, i love me some btas!

Well, consider that Dick on BTAS was in the Drake costume too! The anime comes and goes. At times it is silly and other times very serious and action oriented. I agree that a lot of older fans were turned off by the style from the get-go but it certainly has a lot there for long-time fans as well as pulling in the kids (both my girls love it and my 5-year-old and I have seen every ep, ha).

I also knew dick used drakes costume in the show but so did Drake and the the TT robin has the smaller frame, darker colors, and bigger head that drake had in the BTAS cartoon. oh right and Slade instead of Deathstroke the Terminator irritated me at first he acted a lot like Dr. Claw or whoever Inspector Gadget's enemy was.

I think Drake had a whole new costume, the black, red, and yellow one. That's actually my favorite Robin costume design.
They waited a long time to reveal Slade as the Big Bad that season so yeah, much of his early stuff was all shadowy-figure-in-a-chair-watching-a-screen type stuff.

Not having a TV, I've only seen the sporadic episode. The one I keep seeing over and over is the Titans going back to Starfire's planet . I don't even know what season it's from...

Possible spoiler here*** Well now I am totally confused. I could have sworn it was Tim in the outfit and I had heard that Slade ended up being revieled as Tim's father. I take it now that that was just bull that was being fed to me? If so I am going to be deeply upset.

But, in the Larry episode (which Larry is the Robin version of Bat-Mite) he claimed to be Robin from a wacky parallel dimension (also very Mxyzptlk-ish) and that his name was Nosyarg Kcid, being of course Dick Grayson backwards. The also made a Jason Todd joke in that episode. Ha. LL, Terra was my daughter's favorite character so that one hit her pretty hard. For a few weeks afterwards she wouldn't even watch the show.

Well I'm just going to have to breakdown and start watching it then. By the sound of it they did the Judas Contract story. What a bummer that I missed that. I have a lot of catching up to do. LOL

Many episodes are on DVD now for pretty cheap. Unfortunately not an entire season yet... Takes the WB forever to put out animated seasons.

They are doing the seasons in halves. One disc is the first half of Season One and the second the other half. A third is either out or about to come out for the first half of Season Two (all are less than 20 bucks I think). I think they are airing Season Five now so not too bad.

The thing that gets me is that they could make Donna Troy work without needing to refer to Wonder Woman or the Wonder Girl name - since there's apparently some legal issues involved with using Wonder Girl. I mean, seriously speaking, they could just say that she's from some mythic island, and that she's been given powers from the Titans of Myth, and that she goes by the name Donna Troy. Or Troia.
Or something along those lines(?)

i think the legal thing is that ww is liscenced out to another company for the movie so WB cannot use the name in the cartoon and stuff because its liscened out. they could not call it Wonder anything but im sure the big companies are sly enough to know when they are getting duped

It really is a shame that they aren't going to have a Wonder Girl on TT. They managed to work into everyone else. I really enjoyed the characterization of Kid Flash in the new ep btw. Probably the best version of Wally yet. AND they got Micheal Rosembaum to do his voice too!

Pretty cool "origin" episode this week. New episodes in January and then that's most likely it for the TT cartoon. It's on to 'Legion of Super-Heroes' after that come next fall I think.

Is TT really over after this season? My wife was pretty pissed when I mentioned this to her. No matter how much I hype up the LSH, she doesn't care... We can't do without our weekly dose of cute Starfire.

Yeah, indications point to Teen Titans being done for sure and possibly the final season of Justice League as well. After that it will be The Batman, Legion, and a rumored new Superman cartoon (very likely as the WB seems to like for their superhero movies to be accompanied by a cartoon merchandising tie-in) but I don't think any of them will have the core Bruce Timm team working on them. Oh well, it's been fun and it's not over yet, and who knows, maybe Timm and Co. will make a few cool Marvel cartoons after this. ;D

Marvel would do it. Theyre like that to make a major coup in any talent they can get their hands on, even if the way theyre gonna' be used is hazy (see Steven King and his Dark Tower series)...

Now I'm bummed... I think there's room on the airwaves for Justice League, TT and the LSH. They can stop production on 'The Batman' and I wouldn't shed a tear. And I assume Superman would probably follow in 'The Batman's' footsteps, produced by the same overly kid-friendly group. Just ick. That's all I have to say about that... ick.

I love the Timm designed Batman... Well, the fourth series, where it became more streamlined was an awesome design idea, and I love that costume, but the best episodes are in the first season. I'm considering ordering the fourth series after christmas...
