I think alot of you have hit it on the nose with this topic. But you know another side effect is that the negative vibes keep posters away. I rarely reply on the DC boards because I think 90% of what is said is negative, weak, and immature. I personnal enjoy alot of the stories that come out of the stable of writters at DC. I like alot of what Winnick has done post Gl for example. I think alot of people just like to bitch alot just because they are a "fan" and think they have the right to. It really gets annoying that the DC boards seem to exist for people to whine about everything and everyone. Its a shame that people do not take the time to respond to posts with thoughtful responses. I just think its easier to complain then it is to be positive. Don't get me wrong , I think its only fair to express your feelings about something if you dislike it, but come on already! I have a theroy that in the old letter pages people in general only wrote in to a book when they had good things to say and it took a little more effort. Now with the ease of the internet, its seems people and bitch and complain with ease and they do so frequently! I don't mean to go off like this but it seemed somewhat relevant to the topic and it needed said (haha). So, to end on a positive note I am glad that the DC2 boards exist beyond the stories because I do enjoy reading the posts here(i still dont reply too often) but this is a fun enviroment to hang out in. Besides, we read comics shouldnt we be having fun?

Having read the DC message boards my own theory is that the editors were very selective about what they published on the letters page! I do miss the letters pages though.

And what exactly is the payoff? Being that mean doesn't really get them anywhere. All it's doing is showing a real level of immaturity. I mean if they were all in their teens I guess there could be a little slack given but we're talking about grown men and women in there thirties and fourties! To me it's just another form of hate and that is a concept that I've never understood to begin with...unless we're talking lima beans.
