I believe in being civilized about criticism but the gut gets in the way. For the record I've disliked Howard Chaykin for his presentation of Blackhawk and The Shadow. They simply weren't the characters I had read and loved as a child/slsh young adult (in the Shadow's case--I read most the pulps in the 70s as a result of Denny O'Neil's DC run. I have to keep this in mind with Michael Bendis on the Avengers (for killing off Hawkeye-my very favorite member --the only one who up thil then could have an argumeent with Captain America and guess what--BE RIGHT.) and the renumbering of the series (I liked having a high number series--just waiting for the numbers to line back up ala FF). The point is both gentlemen are entitled to their take on characters they have been hired to make a marketable product. Just because I didn't care for their interpretation doesn't take away from their very obvious talents in art/story telling. Besides I still don't believe Hawkeye's staying dead. Look at Bucky--well executed and very believable--Gween Stacy won't be far behind.

Hawkeye is alive and well in the post House of M marvel U, they just haven't explained it well.
