I do say that with contempt more than anything... I know of a few changes being made to the DCU, two of which have been confirmed. 1. Hawkman will die again... his title is being renamed "Hawkgirl". At what point do we stop caring? And I love Hawkman. 2. Legion of Superheroes is being renamed Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes. Yet the Supergirl book will remain, written by Rucka (this could only be an improvement). Barry Kitson & Waid are being vague as to whether or not the change is permanent. This info was confirmed (and may be old news, but it was new to me...) on www.legionworld.netOther non-confirmed rumors (Jim may have more info) is that Kyle Rayner will become Ion again. Wonder Woman will have 2 series... one of which does not star Diana, but someone COMPLETELY seperate from the WW mythos & the other would be a WW & the Suicide Squad, starring Diana. There may be more that I am forgetting... but I'm sick, so I'm goig to lie my head down on my desk and pray for the end of the day. |

I hadn't heard the WW & Suicide Squad rumor yet, Scott. We know that there is going to be a big shake-up OYL but am just going to say my hunch is that some changes are permanent and others will be temporary, but all very shocking.  I'm still trying to figure out the confirmed title change... Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis! Say wha?! |

Maybe. I think they'll focus more on the sword and sorcery aspect of Atlantis. Maybe do some in depth analysis of the water hand, linking it into Atlantis history? I know I could. (I did as well on another board ) |

The thing I keep coming back to is that maybe they will skew into the Robert E. Howard inspired version of Aquaman from the cartoons. That would be an interesting take if done right and wouldn't necessarily be a retread of the PAD run. But the ironic part would be that the producers of the JLU had that version pulled from an episode this season as to better push the more traditional version being seen on Entourage and Smallville. |

Dan Dido said he wanted to leave the bad guys "bad" for awhile. Why can't they stay bad and still be in a team book? Well I guess with the Secret Six book coming out, it would be one bad guy book too many? oh well, as long as Gail writes it I am on board! |

ugh as do i doc, as do i. whats with the new trend of reality based costumes? well attempt at reality based costumes. i thought only ultimates needed to justify every stitch and screw??? whatever, at least there is a new blue beetle... but WHO??? my theory: Omac thing. as for the costume, i think there are little details everywhere, for the guy saying he wanted it to be iconic, it is too off the wall. "vent here... marking here... line here... wierd tribal face thing... big metal bug leg things..." ugh |

Yeah, I'm probably going to give Shadowpact 6 issues to impress me. Then we'll see...
I found Day of Vengence somewhat anti-climactic, but I enjoyed the dialog and pacing.

i thought the "comic relief" that was the monkey detective was a tad much. twas cool to see another old charlton character getting mad play again though. i liked parts of DOV but overall it was kinda "blah" sides i am broke so no, i shall not read it.

I really went into DOV with the "probably won't like it but I'll try it" attitude and ended up enjoying it the most out of the four. Although VU probably tied for first in my opinion, anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Blue Devil again. Always loved that character.

Yeah, I'm not sure where they are going with the beetle on his back. Did the scarab get really big and latch on? Does he have a big beetle hump on his back too? I can see some potential to it but think it would have to have a good retooling first. It always seems like they are trying Spider-man the Beetle up, but this isn't the right direction in my opinion. Maybe we should make a HEAT-type of organization for Ted Kord. Um, BEET? |
