the more i see it the more i think of jack-in-the-box for some reason
and i dont mean fast foods like a weird cross between him, iron man, and blue beetle.
or like they hired alex ross to do it, anyone notice the designs he makes are always kinda a weird style? cool, but weird.

Yeah, that is one complicated piece of design there. Much too Ultimates for my taste. Alas, poor Ted died for this?
Oh well, I guess I should wait to see the book before passing judgement.

yeah i think a basic standard for the designs in DC for icons should be that they could fit in the league. who else thinks all those classic suits would look awkward with robo beetle over here.

Someone over on Newsarama said it looked like a Beetleborg. That one made me laugh...
Y'know, when you see the mask from the side it kinda looks like... no, wait, maybe it is.... yeah! It all makes sense now! The new Blue Beetle is really Ambush Bug!!
You laugh, but remember it IS Keith Giffen so don't put it past him. Ha!

Looks like something Image comics would design in response to Blue Beetle. I'll give it a shot, but I miss Ted.
Anyone following 'the Other' storyline in Spider-Man comics?

Oh, and Ramon... finally a screen name I can pronounce! This is where LL posted the Spider-Man question! I've been reading it and actually have been enjoying it myself. The build up seemed a little long, but in retrospect of what they've done in the last two parts, it kind of makes sense. What do you think? |

I've been enjoying it... though I'm interested in what the disease that Pete was dying from is... Not that it matters now! Looks like there's a new Cyclops in town!

Seriously though, what Pete did in that last issue was disturbing. And the next step is a cocoon? Didn't they do that before (recently) and he emerged with organic web-shooters? And, for the record, I like the idea of organic web-shooters... as long as he doesn't shoot them out of his butt like a spider really would. That would be disturbing... hopefully Frank miller won't see this post and think 'hey, that would piss everyone off!!! i'm gonna write it!'

I wasn't aware of the cocoon plot again. Well that doesn't give me a lot of hope but I also like the idea of the organic web shooters. Makes more sense to me. So when this is all over, does that mean that Spidey is now a mutant since he went through some kind of change? Have to admit though, I really liked his last come back with MJ. And the splash page at the end was a beaut.

So if we do get two Earths again where do you think the OTHER characters will fall, the ones from other Earths. Will the Marvels wind up on Earth 2? Will the rest of the Charltons land on the Wildstorm Earth? You know, I'm going to keep throwing out these crazy theories, so when we really find out what happens I have a better chance of saying "See! I guessed it!!"  |

more importantly will the human bomb be revived? if so can he ditch the other losers and go on the OTHER earth? that would please me greatly. i will really laugh if they dont go multiple earth so i can go "SEE I GUESSED IT!" i still see no solid proof we are gettin multiple earths. i will throw this out... new spectre... Orin Aquaman cuz spectre is not only on his way to atlantis BUT on the new aquaman cover there is the spectre. . .

As much as I really want to see two Earths back (and the Marvels would go to Earth 2 I would guess), I'm thinking that some of the characters are coming back but that we're still going to have one planet. Just a real big amount of meta humans running around. I'm also thinking that Wally really is going to perish in this thing.  |

It wouldn't be that big a deal to have more than one Earth. How many continuities is Marvel juggling at the moment? The 616, Ultimates, Supreme Power, Marvel Age, and soon New Universe (plus whatever I'm not thinking of). There IS that image of the Earths splitting. I thinking we either get Earth 2 for awhile or 2 Earths. Not sure which.
I think they'll give Wally a happy ending one way or another. It would be a mistake to do a Barry on him I think.

that image of the earths splitting was from SIX of SEVEN and could be a like those covers where bad things happened but it was fake just to keep the reader guessing. i want to see the lee cover... they are more telling. it wouldnt be bad to have three earths but it does not seem practical.

Perhaps they are going to some how blend the history's of some of the main characters from both worlds together. It does say that Batman is offered the life he never had. So he could still be the only Batman but with an amelgamation (sp?) of his history and that of Batman Earth 2.
Boy, thinking about that, it sure would mess things up a lot more. Scratch that, bad idea.

Okay, now we know that a lot of "bold, new directions" haven't been all that they were cracked up to be in the rumor mill. Very few main characters are getting new faces, but a few of secondary characters are. First Firestorm, then Spectre, followed by Blue Beetle, and now...  Oh Ray.
