The signs... look for the signs!
"Tell him to swing away!"
It's just a current theory regarding Wally's fate. The end of his own series, the fact that he's been making appearances in other DC titles with people making comments like "you don't look so good..." etc.
They're setting it up like they did for Barry... and now the introduction of an Allen in a straight jacket, locked away somewhere... Could it be... ?

This is all nice and dandy, but why, Gods why, do Superman's (and all the super-family) costume/s are grey?!!
He is called big freakin' blue, and his costume is grey-blue.
The blue he is ment to have is the one in Godfall, and Supergirl in Supergirl 1-4.

This is all nice and dandy, but why, Gods why, do Superman's (and all the super-family) costume/s are grey?!! He is called big freakin' blue, and his costume is grey-blue. That's due to CYMK conversion. CYMK stands for Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, Black (for some reason K). In printing, they use the secondary colours instead of the primary colours. It makes it easier to mix colours, but it causes the primary colours (Red, Green, Blue) to be distorted (especially blue). You can try it yourself with Adobe Photoshop (or reasonable facimile), create an RGB document, paint the three primary colours, and convert to CYMK. You'll notice all three colours become darker and washed out. I could try and explain it, but the science of optics and light theory is too hard to type out. CYMK isn't just used in commercial printing presses, colour inkjet and laserprinters use CYMK too. Open up your printer and check it out!

Thank you very much for the details, that I did not, or ever I will really need.
That did not answer my question. I dont really give the crap if they are mixing tar with chicken blood. I am asking why it is not blue.

Hey. Come on, the guy gave THE ANSWER to your QUESTION. No need to get snipey. You wanted an answer, you got it. But if the comics I read were coloured with tar and chicken blood... Well then I would not be pleased. I have a thing against my pictures being coloured with blood and tar. Personal reasons.

(well grey but whatever) and he told you straight up, it was the ink they printed stuff in that made the colors darker. not only that but could you show us what you mean by grey costumes, i have yet to see any and for some it is intentional seeing is how Superman started out with grayish costumes! the light blue only came in when they made the movies because otherwise it blended in with the background. charlie is right in that you responded a tad volotile towards DrDread and i really don't see why.

I am asking why it is not blue. My point was the true blue is not acheivable with current 4 colour printing technology. It's a limit of the printing press. UNless you want someone to hand paint every frame of every page, you ain't gonna get true blue (imagine the cost of that comic book!). Superman on TV and Movies has a true blue coloured costume though (that's cuz it's RGB process not CYMK; we're talking additive colour theory, instead of subtractive colour theory). Need to see it? RGB on the left, CMYK on the right. <->

I would say the grayish blue is a matter of artistic interpretation. Like why is Batman sometimes blue and sometimes gray/black?
Another possibility is that you are seeing the Golden Age Supes being floated around these days. He's always shown as grayer/duller in color and with the simplified s-shield. The movie costume draws heavily from the old Max Fleischer cartoons so that is why it is so dark in color as well.

I don't know about next issue, but on a whole I think part of the big change OYL is going to be getting Earth 2 back. I'm not sure how it's going down, but I think it will happen.

Hope not... i like 1 Earth... you start throwing more out there & it gets too confusing. UNless they do it all 'ultimate' style. A nice springboard for new series.

I could go either way. I like the unified Earth just fine, but do think DC could really do some interesting things with an extra DC continuity. Like you suggested, Scott, maybe an edgier Earth where the company can take risks without affecting their tried and true properties.

At this point that is what they should do. Just give the man his own imprint and let him go nuts, kinda like Moore with ABC.
