Now, I have prided myself on knowing everything about Batman since I was a little tike watching the cartoons. But there is one thing that has always elluded my knowledge. I know it involved a very dark thing with the Joker, but what the heck got Dick fired from being Robin? If it's the "It's too dangerous for me to have a partner thing" then why did Tim Drake become the new Robin? Please answer quickly as my curiosity is killing me.

okay it really depends. the dc2 dick is fired for a joker thing but in the "real" dc universe, dick wanted to go to college. thats it. he wanted a higher education and that is where ol' bruce draws the line. granted there was some emotional stuff retconned in, but Bruce felt that Dick was spreading himself too thin i guess so he got the axe. now TIM is a whole other story. see before tim (i hope you know this) there was jason and he got killed in a very dark thing with the joker and the middle east. but i digress, tim basically was a kid who was brought in when the dark knight was really dark and really sloppy. lil' tim gets worried and tracks down dick and basically discovers his true identity by linking him with his days at o'malley's (no clue how that is spelled) now clever little bugger demands that dick goes back to working with batman because batman needs robin and so on and so forth. dick finds out bruce is in trouble and goes out to work with batman again but alas the spark is no more and they get in some deep trouble. at this point tim comes out and saves the day. (ill spare the rest, the tpb is called a lonely place for dying i beleive) from this batman still is hesitant but reluctantly takes on tim as the new robin because he proves himself. is that right guys? know what? if you are really interested check out: www.comics101.com/archives/comics101/43.phpand en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_%28comics%29

In the Batman: Animated series, I have no idea.
In comics, as Ramon pointed out, Dick went to university. Writer Marv Wolfman also made it clear that Dick was sick and tired of being known as a "kid sidekick". He was an adult and wanted to be his own person. The Nightwing alias came from Superman, the man Dick considered his second mentor. Thus, it was a decision by Dick to quit and let Jason take the mantle of Robin.

In the cartoon there was an episode where Batman is trying to get info from a crook and is roughing him up in front of his family. Dick realizes just how different they are and takes off. Tim Drake I believe was trying to steal something from the Batboat but Batman returns injured and he helps save him by getting into the boat and then auto-piloting back to the Batcave. That's the short version but I think it covers the basics.

I got another question for ya'll. What is going on Barbara Gordon on this site? I know that she's in Las Vegas but what are the specifics? Is she there in exile or on assignment from Batman or what? Is she Batgirl or Oracle? Someone help me out here please?

Well, in current DC2 continuity, Babs is still Batgirl. Why is she in Vegas? Well, New Outsiders #0 gives a clue. Nightwing #1 gives another clue. Currently it looks like she went to Vegas to cut ties from Batman and Nightwing. You can read more on Batgirl in New Outsiders, it's a great read!

Hope:
Currently I think Dick is involved with Kory, but there has been some discussion on the matter. See the Babs/Kory poll!
If you want the password for NO then make a request in the Password thread in the "Letters to the Editor" forum at the top of the page or send a PM to "admin".

Sank you. And I know that there is a Kory/Dick relationship currently and I have read the poll, but I tend to be a dreamer. Babs/Dick all the way!
