What if when Superman's rocket landed on Earth it was discovered by Project Cadmus and its scientists experimented on Supes causing him to become Doomsday. This creature somehow escapes and wreaks havoc all over but superman isn't there to take himself out.

well, doomsdays whole purpose was to KILL superman wasnt it? so what is the motivation for the rampage exactly?

How about one where Krypton had a yellow sun and the Kryptonians led a crusade across the universe wiping out all evil in the cosmos. The only stronghold of evil left is Apocalypse and the story is about Darkseid trying to fight off all the good guys.

This creature somehow escapes and wreaks havoc all over but superman isn't there to take himself out. This somewhat sounds like a JSA Elseworld book that came out (the terrible three, I think). Superman was found by the US government in the 30s and made into a weapon. Soon enough though, we learn Clark Kent isn't exactly who we think he is... Great story! |

sounds pretty interesting. However, i think you would need to set up a foil to your evil character. perhaps a scientist/designer at cadmus named john henry irons, who is forced to use a prototype "supersuit" to challenge your kal-el/doomsday?
