Has anyone noticed how every story in comic books or movies or tv shows that involves villains or hostile aliens going back through time to World War 2 to try to take over the earth, they always align themselves with the Nazis? Are they stupid or something? Why don’t they ever align themselves with the Allies? If they’re smart enough to build a time machine they should be smart enough to pick the winning team.
If we ever do an arc where some super villains travel back to WW2, they should align themselves with the Allies, preferably the Soviets. Have the super villains help Stalin build war machines to smash the Axis powers and conquer, I mean liberate, all of Europe and Asia so that the Soviet empire would come out of the war being the world’s savior and sole super power. That's a diabolical plot for world domination worthy of a true super villain.

The Onion "newspaper" had a funny headline in 1941 saying "Japanese ally themselves with white supremacist group in well-thought out plan." Indeed.

The Axis are always the losers. The two most recent ones I can think of are the Cartoon Network Justice League arc with Vandal Savage and the Enterprise episode where the Temporal Cold War is resolved.

not on earth x they arent the losers... that is while earth x existed. either way, if their villains wouldn't they also be LIARS!? however i see where you're coming from but that does not make the villains stupid... it makes the writers innit?

It would be a lot harder for the heroes to fight the villains if the villains aligned themselves with the Allies. What would the Justice League have done if Vandal Savage took over the Soviet Union instead of Germany? The Justice League can't exactly help the Nazis. If they removed Vandal Savage from leadership, it would plunge the Soviet forces into chaos. Basically no matter what the Justice League does, they’re kind of screwed.

WRITE IT!! It sounds like a great idea.

I think the reasoning is that the Nazis were the last batch of bad guys to make a halfway successful run for world domination, so if you're a super villian you just might think, "those crazy Nazi cats have already done half the work, now if I could go back in time and do it right then I'd gets me some World Conquerorship action! Heck yeah!" Plus y'know, Nazi make great bad guys. Not like these sneaky and elusive Islamic Radical guys.
I agree with Doc though, your idea definately sounds interesting and original. You should write it up as a story and submit it!

I think that all time travellers are plain evil, or related to that one testicled Austrian named Hitler... Thats why they team up. Maybe they think they can be part of the greatest EVIL victory in human existence with a touch of the ol' future magic! So yeah, I agree with Brandon!

Ha! Right, why give them the decisive power of an atomic weapon when you can give them giant robots and war wheels and whatnot.

Maybe they enjoy a challenge?
EvilTimeTravellerNo.1: Why don't we travel back in time and coerce the US? Therefore taking control of all the heroes, then defeat the Nazis, be heroes, THEN do our evil plot?
EvilTimeTravellerNo.2: Nah... Let's fix the Nazis plan, then get beaten, then get trapped in the past. Your plan is too good to work.
EvilTimeTravellerNo.1: You're probably right.
