maybe...
The last sequence by Sadowski (the original pencils are much better than the inked/coloured versions), where Adam brings Atom Smasher back to life? Whoa!
He hits him once with the Shazam magic whammy, and then his evil, human host, Theo (?) Adam, looks at him, and becomes Black Adam again! Mabe Teth is affecting his host?
And isn't there a guy trapped in Black Adam then?
Thoughts...

The latest run of Alex Ross covers on this title should be collected together for a poster, like he did of the JLA.
This title is one of my top five favorites (along with Hawkman, Birds of Prey, John's recent JLA run and Action Comics), although the art's been kinda hit or miss the last few issues...

that 76 issue was pathetic. I liked the idea, but the art conveyed it poorly. especially when Alan Scott got lanced by those tiny things... wHaT?

so what did you all think of 78? I just finished reading it and have to say that personally I was a little disappointed. I guess I was looking for a shocking twist or something, but other then the Hector Hall moment, it all fell into place kind of like I expected. Including the explanation of Jakeem. And although I really enjoy Alex Ross' work, I am kind of glad that these covers are done for a while. Like to see them get back to more of a group cover.

SPOILERS BELOW!
Holy Crap, they killed off Hector and Lyta! Carter's gonna be pissed (that is, if he's still around)... What's up with that?!? So is Nabu himself an eerie new Dr. Fate (actually, I kinda like the idea...). Nice wrap-up to this storyline, but the next couple of issues promise to be even better. Paul Levitz and George Perez!

Well, Nabu is dead too. He died so that Spectre would stop destroying magic. That issue with Stargirl as the main character rocked.

Nabu became Dr Fate after Hector Hall died in JSA. He took on the floating helmet gloves cape look of Kingdom Come.

This was a little gem all the way through--- not a big story (though the Liberty Belle stuff was cool), but a great showcase of probably their best new member (of course, Geoff does have some nostalgia for Courtney), and a story about what the JSA is all about: family. This was my favorite issue in a long time. And a great cover by Alex Ross, to boot!

It was okay...I found it to be a little cliched and corny. The break from IC was nice, though, and I liked the spotlight on Courtney. However, Jesse Quick and Liberty Belle were not really necessary; they were a nice touch, but they didn't really fit with the story. Second-tier characters shouldn't just pop up like that.

Issue # 83 anyone?
S P O I L E R S . . . . . . OK nothing to spoil because one year later is much to do about nothing in this title! Could this have been any more boring? Looking for clues as to how crisis ends? Don't bother here. A few members are absent but the ones that are still around aren't really doing much nor do they appear to have done much in the past year! This has been one of the most consistent and entertaining titles DC has had for years but the last two Paul Levitz issues have been painful to say the least. The more I think about it the more I realize how long I could go on about how much I disliked this issue. But I won't. I will give it another chance next issue!

This was the softest reboot of the OYL titles so far, and the Earth 2 affect has been reversed, because Keystone is back. So there is a bit of a resolution reveal to IC than before. Bit slow, but still a nice little character piece.

I agree with you HoM. It was kind of a quiet issue, all things considered. However, I didn't find that to be a bad thing at all. It's just starting a new story and this was the set up. I thought it was a solid issue and I really enjoyed the art.

Really sad news for JSA fans. July solicits show that JSA #87 is the last issue: www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=5563This really depresses me. This and BoP are my two favorites.

Never fear; this title sells too well, so I'm pretty sure the cancellation is just the prelude to a retooling. And as good as this title has been (and as big a fan as you all could imagine I am), it's been in a bit of a creative slump since the Black Reign crossover with Hawkman (the last few storylines, with some few exceptions, have been uninspired). We can probably look forward to seeing it retitled Justice Society of America, and debut in late summer/early autumn. So that brings up that question: who would you like to see in the team? This would be my ideal line-up:
The Flash GL Wildcat Captain Marvel Power Girl Star Girl Dr. Mid-Nite Hourman Dr. Fate (I hope they bring back Kent Nelson!) Hawkman

You are right, Idle. After going through a couple of different sites, it's being hinted that it will be back. An anouncement will be made next month. Whew!
Mine would be:
Mr. Teriffic The Flash GL Dr. Mid-Nite Stargirl Hawkgirl Wildcat Hourman Sand

Have no fear, LL! I've been reading a few different sites and one that Johns himself responds to, and he assures us that this is not the end of the JSA. That there is something huge in the works for this team.
I have a feeling they are going to do a little house cleaning and start over with another #1. But that's just a guess.

Is it just me, or does this final arc of this book feel kind of, meh. And way too long. It feels like they're padding the hell out of this just to get one more trade in before the run is cancelled.

It is a disappointing final arc--- and a little baffling. I always thought the Gentleman Ghost was more of a Hawkman villain who also tangled with Batman on occassion. Pitting the JSA against him in their last big story before the relaunch feels a little forced, and kinda like Green Lantern fighting the Scarecrow in his last issue (although... the Master of Fear v. the Man With No Fear...? Could be a cool!).
I think Levitz missed an opportunity here, too. One of the covers suggested the deceased members were coming back, at least for a brief adventure. How cool would it have been to see folks like the original versions of the Crimson Avenger, the Sandman, the Atom, Dr. Fate, Mr Terrific (okay, maybe not him so much...), the Star-Spangled Kid--- and even the E2 Huntress, Robin, Batman and Superman!
Alas!

From "All The Rage" on silverbullets.com (link below): The Golden Age James Robinson is hard at work on a WW2 era JSA story (probably a hardcover graphic novel). I had heard rumors that Jerry Ordway was attached as the artist, but it turns out that Ordway is writing and penciling another different top-secret JSA project on his own. As a fan of both the classic Jerry Ordway All Star-Squadron issues and Robinson’s Golden Age mini series, this is great news all around. Did anyone else pick up issue 1? So far this has been my favorite book of the week. (although I haven't read Manhunter or Nightwing yet). I think Johns has brought his A game back to this group and the next generation of JSA'ers are looking very interesting.
