This post was found, intially anonymous, in a different forum. I move it here where it belongs, and credit it to member aprice. It is entitled: Follow Up to 220.
PANEL 1
Wonder woman sits alone in a temple on the grounds of the embassy. It is twilight, the fading sunset in the background gives way to blue/purple of night. Her head is down, unhappiness engulfs her.
BLUE CAPTION: Why do I care?
He is severe, judgmental. He drapes himself in gray when he can see nothing but black and white.
He cares more about his narrow vision of morality than about justice.
RED CAPTION You’re not being fair, Diana.
BLUE CAPTION: …
He cares more about morality than…
RED CAPTION: …than anything. And that’s why you care. Because in your heart, you know he cares more about right and wrong than you do. And you need someone who cares that much to be your moral compass.
BLUE CAPTION: I was right to kill Max Lord.
RED CAPTION: Maxwell Lord deserved to die. But were you right to kill him? It’s a different question.
And if you didn’t know that, then I wouldn’t be troubling you now.
BLUE CAPTION: What choice did I have?
RED CAPTION: None. But he didn’t die in battle; he died a helpless captive at your feet. The warrior knows the difference.
BLUE CAPTION: And Bruce and Kal…
RED CAPTION (Interrupting): That’s not what bothers them. They are troubled because you presumed to be police, judge, jury and executioner.
Creatures of the modern world, they believe in separation of power. They cannot conceive that one person holding all authority does not necessarily make it corrupt. Nor that you were born, bred and raised to hold that power.
They are vigilantes – yes, even Superman. They have the luxury of choosing which laws to enforce and the degrees to which they will enforce them.
You are born of a warrior people, from a warrior’s age. War means unpalatable choices and consequences.
Never confuse the two.

Rick Johnston has stated it more than once at LITG. That doesn't make it fact, but considering what's been going on with Diana lately it doesn't sound at all far-fetched.

I heard rumor... completely unfounded, lame & retarded, I might add, that Diana will die in this Crisis (sound familiar?) and Donna Troy will take her place.
God help us all if this crap is true.

I also heard the rumor about Diana dying. The evidence is starting to mount up too! A new WW series probably means a new character. Besides, she killed someone dude. In comic hero circles there's only one way to go after that [Hal Jordan anyone?]. Its then not much of a leap to think that the newly resurrected Donna Troy will be WW.

Well after reading this last issue (which I thought the battle between WW and Cheeta was ok) I am wondering if they don't actually plan on getting rid of the Island completley. This weapon that they want created has all the sounds of a paradise version of a nuke. I'm also thinking that Donna is looking like she might be the new Wonder Woman. What did everyone else think of this last issue?

In comic hero circles there's only one way to go after that [Hal Jordan anyone?]. Don't forget Barry Allen. I don't think Donna should replace Diana. Diana has a one sentence origin, as do most great superheroes. Donna has a mess of an origin, which will alienate new readers. It's true. You can't even say she was Diana's protege. She was a protege of a wonder woman from an alternate earth, who died (or was made undone).

Big developments in this title this month! They really are putting Diana through the ringer (though I guess I'm not one to talk)! And does anyone else just get a kick out of P.D.R.? I can't wait to see where they go with this--- as long as they don't kill her. The new artist they have lined up, Terry Dodson, looks like he does incredible work (and it looks like he's drawing Diana, not Donna).

Nice! But maybe because it's a Dodson! I like the way they've incorporated the eagle design and they've lowered the WW!

TRAINWRECK ALERT!Here a link to the original Wonder Woman pilot. It was by the same people who did the campy Batman series of the 60s. It's watchable only in a "OMG this is a disaster" kind of way. Don't expect great art here! 8-)Movie time!

[glow=red,2,300]SPOILERS FOR WW #1[/glow]
Donna is Wonder Woman. Diana hasn't been seen for over a year. Giganta, Cheetah, and Dr Psycho kidnap Steve Trevor, and government agent Nemesis gets a new partner - Diana Prince.
I was told this on another board. Info may be wrong, but it was also on the DCMB, so...

SPOILERS!!!!!!
Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the new first issue of Wonder Woman! The art was lush and beautiful, and I actually liked Donna in the role (better than I liked Wally in his--- here's hoping to see Barry when that comes out). The villains were awesome (Giganta! Cheetah! Dr Psycho!), and the supporting cast was pretty cool, too (finally, they're doing something with Steve Trevor--- and Assistant Sec'y of Defense is not too shabby). All in all, this gets a thumbs up from me.
I liked the end (didn't really expect not to see Diana, as she's in the JLA preview), but I can't help but feel like Donna deserves a shot at this...!

I concur! Loved the issue. Best issue I've ever read from a (non-Charlton produced) Wonder Woman comic!
Diana looked hot in the white outfit...

I thought the art looked great. The story however, I had some issues with.
By the end of the story, I thought Wonder Woman looked pretty weak. After the first issue, and she needs to be rescued?? Blah...
Diana does look hot in the new (70's) costume. Those a major s**t kicking boots.

Loved the art, except sometimes they didn't have a good flow from one panel to the next and I'm not overly excited about Cheets and Giaganta's outfits. Did like how the story is going, liked Donna's and Diana's outfits, and most of all liked that it was an adventure. Wonder Woman has been so mired in politics and social messages it is well ov erdue for a good old fashion fight.

This book is a major let down. I mean come on, bi-monthly with one of the "trinity" that DiDio tried so hard to reestablish? Doesn't he see the flaw in his masterplan? The Dodsons' art is strong, but... I'm not a fan of cheesecake. Meh, I'll keep picking this up, or I might not, it doesn't weigh on me that much... Now to get back to Perez, or to Rucka... *Sigh*

The disappointment of the shipping of WW is because of the writer of the series. I hope the new writer: Jodi Picouilt is more reliable in terms of scheduling. Plus I can't wait for Amazon Attacks. I've read bits and pieces, and I was torn between liking and loathing her characterisation of Diana. Yes, she's a Princess from a mythical Isle, so it makes SENSE that she doesn't know how to pump gas, but then again, she's been in America for 10+ years soooo...

I thought it was ok. I laughed a couple of times. I'm still a little confused about what is going on in her book and what is going on in Manhunter. Continuity snafu's like that drive me crazy.
Loved the art, though.

I get that part, but I like the fact that she's walking the edge of her life among Men.. and her life Post Maxwell Lord... but I dunno.. guess I'll have to wait and see how it plays out with the War with the Amazons.

I enjoyed this issue, though I'm not sure if Jodi Picoult quite found Diana's voice--- but as this is her first stab at it, I will definately give it a shot.
I liked the story, but like Brian, I hate not knowing what's going on. The delay on that last Heinberg issue absolutely outrages my sense of professionalism. If it's your job, you should do it, no excuses, then thank your fans for paying to read it. As it is, I would never buy anything else by him, for fear of the same thing happening (once bitten, twice shy)--- and I'm sure DC would have second thoughts giving him another gig!
Back to the issue: the art was nice (a bit imitative of the Dodson's, though I guess that isn't such a bad thing), and I thought the Hero Park was an awesome idea (Maxi-Man autographing the breasts of a female fan was perhaps a bit much, but that memorabilia store was cool), but the Villains and Vixens Club seemed a bit familiar (somebody should pay you for that one, Brian)!
Lastly, I was a bit disappointed to see Circe again so soon--- especially after the last arc being unresolved. Wonder Woman has an interesting Rogues Gallery, you'd think they could havefound someone else to pit against her.

GAIL SIMONE IS THE NEW WW WRITER! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! This is really good news. For the first time since Perez's run, I feel that a new era of greatness is around the corner for this badly-used character. Maybe now she'll get the respect she deserves, and the support to earn the equal standing expected from her by DC editorial. What a relief! Thanks for the breaking news, Ellen ;D!

Arrgghh!!! Ellen beat me to it. I just found out the news. The Grand Dame of comics writing comics greatest female icon! Life couldn't get much better then that, for us comic fans. It is a great day, for sure.
