Has anyone else read it yet? I thought it was great. I really liked Villains United, I greatly enjoyed the Secret Six mini. I was very much looking forwards to this series.

Got it, loved it, can't wait for the next one.
I just don't know anyone (including Johns and Morrison) that is writing tighter, better character-driven stories. That scene with Deadshot and Catman in the convenience store was hilarious. And the stripper sequence was oddly touching.
This book doesn't need the star-power of Batman, but I do like seeing Huntress and Catman continue their burgeoning relationship.
Bane is a great addition--- but who will be the sixth of the Six?
Art was fantastic. The cover was fantastic-er.
Good call, Doc.

I have to agree, this was a great first issue. It's obvious how much Gail loves these characters.
I love the idea that Catman is bordering between good and bad, and I love his continuing involvment with Helena as well.
It might also take Gail to get me to like Bane, a character that I was never that thrilled with. This might be just what he needs to come into his own... finally.
Can't wait for the next issue!

Best thing Gail has written in years.
Hands down.

just finished reading issue #2 and I've got a feeling that this really could turn out to be one of Gail's best... ever. At that's saying quite a bit.

I picked this up as well. I really like the art in these two issues Nicola Scott is doing a great job capturing the mood Simone is trying to portray in her writing.

I enjoyed issue #2. I had been looking forwards to a cat versus bat showdown since VU #3. It was well written, as Catman walked out looking strong without Batman looking weaker.
However, I really missed the Catman/Deadshot relationship. Forget the Crocket/Tubbs, Murtough/Riggs, Cates/Hammond, Unger/Madison, Schwarzenegger/DeVito buddy flicks. Catman/Deadshot are the ultimate mismatched buddies.

I'll start reading it when Gail is off the series..... I've hated her Wonder Woman run I can't imagine this series without Gail Simone on it. The Six are so much her characters, it would just be weird reading them by another author (I haven't read Salvation Run).

I just finished reading issue 3 and thought it was awesome! I've been let down by many comics who start slow out of the gate, but I am liking the humor and action this one is providing each issue. I am giving Gail 2 thumbs up on the writing of this series so far.

Yeah I finished #3 today as well.
The revelation of what the card was, surprised me but not in a good way initially. The more I thought about it, the more I appreciated the cleverness of the card. It's like a perverse, twisted joke... which, of course, suits this series perfectly.
Can't wait for issue #4... which introduces the SIXTH member!

I want to update this thread because the book deserves it! note This is now my favourite ongoing inall of the DCU, and I'm so glad its sales have stabilised. I love Catman. I love Deadshot. I LOVE Ragdoll. Hell, I even love *Bane* now. BANE! Gail Simone is an evil, evil genius.
And 'Save the monkeys- for Heaven's sake, SAVE THE MONKEYS!" is one of the funniest things I've read in a comic... well, ever.

I have cancelled all of my DCU subscriptions, except for Secret Six, and I am trying out Power Girl for a bit (since it is starting at #1). I haven't been impressed by any of the DC comics I've read over the last year, with the exception of Secret Six (and that includes Green Lantern which I cancelled). I am going to blame some of my dissatisfaction with the DCU from being a newer reader to the current version of the DCU, and the constant confusion with the crossovers and universe manipulation that has happened over the last year, leaving me constantly confused in most of the stories. I kept feeling like I was missing something when reading, and of course that turned me off. With Secret Six, I was able to start with Issue #1, and the story has been constantly interesting, and the character development is drawing me in more and more. I would have to say, even though I am more of a Marvel and Indy fanboy, that Secret Six is my favorite comic of all the different companies right now, though it is one of my only DCU monthly subscriptions. I have around 15 comics I collect monthly, mostly from Marvel, Image, and Top Cow, so that tells you how much I like Secret Six.

One of my favorite runs. Really love how Bane has developed as a character, Secret Six added even more depth to a character that was already one of my favorites. Got to love Deadshot's violent yet comedic personality too. King Shark and Cheshire are BADASS too. The sub plots are interesting, the dialogue is amazing, it is just s gripping, fun, dark series that I love to death.
