The ending of Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds. No, really, what was it? I have no idea. I don't really understand if I'm supposed to find this a hilarious joke, a wildly out of place piece of metafiction or just a gigantic insult to everyone reading the comic. Please, please, please tell me someone read it and 'got' it. Please. I mean, the series was irritating anyway, other than the BEAUTIFUL art. Most of the Legionnaires did nothing, Geoff Johns' Superboy Prime mancrush is at its worst ever, and I still don't understand how it's a Final Crisis crossover. (In fact, Final Crisis #6 very specifically set up a way that this could have tied into the main story- but it didn't.) In FC 6 we see Superman return from the Legion future- but now we know he apparantly darts off the future, saves it, comes back, then goes back to the future again off-panel. Oh, and Bart and Connor were there for the entirety of Final Crisis #4-7 apparantly, they just didn't, you know, do anything or appear. My brain hurts. Why, Geoff Johns? Why? You're SO MUCH better than this..

Ha, I gave up on this series with, I think, #2? I saw the last page, and really... eurgh. I'm not at all upset by my decision. Might pick up the HC because of the Perez art, but really... not because of the story.

Prime goes home and gets revenge on the DCU by bashing it on the Internet. I love it.

Very fitting ending. Prime's from a world where he was the only superhero but everyone else were comic book characters. That's why his family read about what he had done since Crisis on Infinite Earths by reading the actual comics Prime has been in. I thought it was a perfect and ironic "ending" for his character that he finally returned home like he wanted but because of what he's done, they won't treat him like the hero he hoped they would.

What that was, was awesome!
Just read this last night, and while I like Johns a lot, he has a way of dropping the ball at the end of a big story (Infinite Crisis comes to mind), but I don't think this was one of those times. Loved this series, and really loved the ending. In fact, I don't think it could have ended any other way.
In fact, I think Superboy Prime has been on the DC2 this whole time... Isn't that right... "Charlie"...?
(Still don't see how it has any connection to Final Crisis, though.)

I thought him erasing himself was the perfect ending. I thought him becoming a whiny angry fanboy was the stupidest, most ill-concieved, worst and most Grant-Morrison-Ripoff-Done-Worse ending I have seen in all my years as a comic fan. Honestly, I'm hard pressed to think of an ending I've despised more.
But to be fair, I've always hated Superboy Prime anyway. From ruining his character in Infinite Crisis to Geoff Johns' insistence on using him in big stories just to show how uber-cool he is.... (His brief metamorphosis into the main villain[/b] of Green Lantern #25 probably being the worst. Although his being the Time Trapper was pretty awful too.)

The ending did surprise me, but now that I thought about it, I have to agree. The perfect, irony-filled 'ending' for Superboy-Prime. You are right, impulseallen. It does fit him perfectly. I am interested in Adventure Comics now, and I especially don't regret ordering it. I can't wait to see some of those plot threads come to fruition.

Question... does this moment in Green Lantern Corps #40 link in with the GL stuff in Legion of Three Worlds? I don't have the issues at hand, and am curious as to what you all think! Obviously this is a potential spoiler for those of you following GLC and Blackest Night, but really, the issue has been out for a week... ;D ... ... Spoilers to follow... Warning... Warning... Warned...
