It seems that DC is going to be giving the axe to one of their experiments at providing a "backup story" featuring a lesser-popular character in some of their titles from the recent Q&A with Dan DiDio. www.newsarama.com/comics/090928-10-annswers-dan-didio.htmlRelevant Question reprinted below:Nrama: The last time we talked, you told us there will be a second feature in one of the books for younger magic characters. Will the Shadowpact characters be involved in that? Or is there anything else you can tell us about it? DiDio: No, it's not Shadowpact. It's another new concept that we'll be introducing in one of the comics. It will be replacing one of the co-features that we have right now. I'm hoping he's talking about the Black Beetle story just wrapping up because, if they're going to stop the Manhunter backups in Streets of Gotham, I'm NOT going to be a happy camper. He does end with a question though: "The second features have to be characters that can't support a mini-series or an ongoing, and talent that doesn't have an opportunity to work on the main books, giving them a chance to be part of the DC Universe. What would you like to see in the second features, and who would you like to see working on them?" Um... can I get an Enemy Ace anyone? How about Ragman? The Blackhawks? Arion? Arak? Creature Commandos? I can rattle off names all day.

I want a Bat Lash or other Western-themed backup in my Jonah Hex books instead of this crap I don't care about that they keep shoving in -- I actually did a page-count the first time they did it because I thought they gypped me on my monthly Hex-fix. However, the "Cry for Justice" preview did lead me to buy the mini.
