I know it has been out for a few years now, but I was just wondering who has read it. I just started so I am only a couple of chapters in. It is however the first time I have read these characters in prose form outside of DC2 and I recommend it for anyone who writes here. Who has read it and what did they think?

Never read it, but if you recommend it, Chris, I'll take a look at it. Looking for something to put on the Kindle today!

Only heard good things about this book, and how Wolfman had an opportunity to go about doing things with the story that he had wanted to do with the original series. I can't say I'm a fan of prose-adaptations, but if I see it...

Yeah it gives you Barry's experience of the whole thing. Pretty good so far but like I said I am only a little ways into it. So far I am getting the idea that Barry had a lot more to do with it than you see in the original telling.

I haven't finished it (about half way through), but so far it's been fantastic. It's the Crisis from Barry Allen's point of view. I'm not a big fan of adaptations of comic book story ones (original novels I like) but this one has the feel of the original seris, but new stuff that makes it fresh and updated.

I was eager to read it when it first came out, but after I got through it, I found myself disappointed. I've read A LOT of adaptations, for comics and movies and TV shows, and this one came off flat to me. Not necessarily bad, but I like to see adaptaions that provide some sort of new insight to the source material, and this one seemed to actually take away from the original Crisis miniseries. It was almost a chore to get through. My husband and I are both voracious readers, and whenever one of us finishes a new book, we give the other a rundown of it and whether we think it's worth the other person's time to read. After I finished the COIE adaptation, I told Jamin, "Don't bother."

Yeah, I am finished with it now and I still think it's pretty decent. It isn't as mind blowing as the first time you read the original but it does answer some questions and clear up some confusion. The thing to remember too though is that it is an adaptation and there are some sub plots dropped and the ending has been changed.

Most of it was okay but whoever was editing it really screwed up big time. The last third of it was riddled with typos and just sloppy. Also Superboy Prime was completely dropped from the story. I thought it was because of the legal problems DC had with the creators families but somebody else told me the book came out long before the lawsuit. If that's true I can't believe Wolfman would leave him out.
