I loved this book since its inception; Dave Gibbons did some wonderful work in Johns-World, and even though I felt a bit hurt by his unceremonious departure (where was the fanfare? The farewell?) , Peter Tomasi filled his shoes more than I could have hoped, and the book has been on the up and up since. Now, with Tony Bedard coming onboard, and a whole new conspiracy running around in the background, I don't know what to expect. Pat Gleason grew on me as an artist from Recharge #1, and I don't know what I'm going to do without my monthly fix of his manic pencil work. Adrian Syaf (sp?) will fill his shoes, eventually, and I'm sure I'll fall in love with him, but right now? I'm apprehensive.
What do you think of the future for this title in the post Blackest Night world? Bedard has shown himself to be quite adept at playing with all things cosmic (give him a few years, and a suspicious death, and he'll have the whole line covered-- watch yourself, Geoff) so I shouldn't be nervous... should I?

So yeah, I can't wait for Emerald Warriors, the creative team is one I'm psyched for... so if you're wanting to take a peak at what to expect, check out this double-paged tease for the new series! Spoilers, ho! (You have to click the thread to see) Attachments:

I've enjoyed the Kyle/Guy dynamic quite a bit. he Brightest Day issue was pretty good I thought. I'm interested to see what happens with Ganthet as a deputy Lantern. (It was Ganthet right?)

Spoilers, ho! what double page spread? you cant tease me like this man? i lovwe glc, i like beddard so am excited to see the new direction. i loved the arc exploring boodikas past, which unfortunatley resulted in her turning into a freakish monster apha lantern-not huge fan of that look. i would have liked to see a little more exploration into the ice and guy relationship, it felt as if there was a bit of unfinished business, like maybe the writer meant to explore this more? anything featuring kyle im a fan of, he is my green lantern.

Yeah, Ganthet-as-a-Lantern is going to be an interesting dynamic, because I don't think the Guardians will recognise him as an equal anymore. Plus, weren't the "Deputies" in Blackest Night supposed to be only active for 24 hours? Strange...

i loved the arc exploring boodikas past, which unfortunatley resulted in her turning into a freakish monster apha lantern-not huge fan of that look. The one that investigated her character AFTER she was turned into an Alpha Lantern? That resulted in her sister being assigned to her as her partner and power battery? I've seen that followed up once, and not again. Shame, but maybe the Alpha Lantern arc in Bedard's run (I'm thinking it's something that was always going to be written-- from Tomasi and Johns' breakdowns, perhaps?) will see her return. i would have liked to see a little more exploration into the ice and guy relationship, it felt as if there was a bit of unfinished business, like maybe the writer meant to explore this more? Oh, completely! Can't help but think that Blackest Night got in the way of that. Shame, but understandable. anything featuring kyle im a fan of, he is my green lantern. Greedy!

I tihnk they were but they mentioned Ganthet as still being one in the Brightest Day issue.Maybe since he was a guardian he can stay one as long as he wants?

ohhhhhh...kayyyyyy the spread didnt come up until i clicked on the thread? didnt show in the thread until i actually clicked on the thread...random Yeah, I'm trying something new, "attaching" images as opposed to photobucket linking them. It saves me having to link, and with a massive image like that it's pretty much more convenient for everyone else!

Shame, but maybe the Alpha Lantern arc in Bedard's run (I'm thinking it's something that was always going to be written-- from Tomasi and Johns' breakdowns, perhaps?) will see her return. BAH i forget when these things are!i liked her backstory here and it just made it more annoying that she was now not so much a character as a robot. funny that the alpha lanterns have no willpower. thats part of the whole point i guess. i dunno how she would come back in the way she had been around before, given that she now doesnt have a face? maybe we will find out that these arent actually the lanterns, they are manhunter type robots and the real lanterns will be in stasis somewhere...hmm yup thats me. i guess i just mean as a 90s kid kyle was my gl and i do prefer him to hal and john and guy tbh. i loved the dynamic between kyle and guy, shame this is sorta coming to an end with the invent of emerald warriors. i dont quite understand the concept of this at the moment, it intrigues me, but i dont know, is it going to be another glc book? or is it just literally guy and killowog?i wonder if this would have all been better as part of glc still, we will see!
