Argh, I'm so torn about this series. I want to love it because the whole package should be, in theory, stellar. You've got Giffen and Winnick (Winnick, who I think is brilliant, but also sometimes need tempering, and if anyone can temper ANYONE, it's Giffen) and an art team that should be on a thousand mainstream, ongoing titles (Joe Bennett should be on JLA. That's what I'm talking about when I say I don't understand why certain talents aren't on certain books, and some are... same as Batista on Booster Gold-- he's JLA material, man!) this shouldn't be able to go wrong.
But Booster Gold gets put down again, when we know he's fantastic, and it's all so mopey and depressing and then... Maxwell Lord's raison d'etre kind of makes sense? I'll collect this, I think. It's going to be a bloody drain on my dwindling resources but I'll keep reading. I like the idea of these two dueling biweeklies as opposed to one 52 issue series. Makes more sense in my head to rationalise spending so much money, even if it's still the same deal any other way.
I want Ted Kord back...
Charlie.

It should be interesting to see if no one remembers Max, how do they think Ted died? What do they think happened during IC? I also can't wait to see if this ties back into the end of Booster One Million. Spoiler...
if you haven't seen it but it shows and Johns has confirmed that it is a living breathing Ted Kord. This was before Darkest Night though, so I don't know if it sticks or not.

It should be interesting to see if no one remembers Max, how do they think Ted died? Yeah, I'm sure that Booster isn't going to be happy with that. That's a plot point they can't help but revisit... What do they think happened during IC? Oh, does this sort of, kind of, absolve Wonder Woman of the crime? Obviously not, and you'd think that she wouldn't be affected (Avatar of Truth or whatever she is nowadays) but the world wouldn't distrust of her, the DMA wouldn't be after her, pretty much her entire OYL series is now retconned... whoa. Hadn't really considered that either. I also can't wait to see if this ties back into the end of Booster One Million. Spoiler... if you haven't seen it but it shows and Johns has confirmed that it is a living breathing Ted Kord. This was before Darkest Night though, so I don't know if it sticks or not. Blackest Night you mean, Chris? Heh. Well, I know that they've said that he *is* dead after that, but I would like to think he is around somehow... but with the way they're killing minorities to make way for original Silver Age versions of characters I wouldn't want to think it would mean for Jaime if they did bring Ted back into the DCU proper. Target on his back, I'm sure. That being said, Professor Zoom was dead in Blackest Night but resurrected in Blackest Night and then time travelled before the event in Rebirth... so I don't see why Ted Kord couldn't return... somehow. Charlie.

I do mean Blackest night of course. The way they are killing minorities to bring back Silver Age versions? Here, I thought it started with killing Silver Age versions just to use more minorities.
True, if Ted was alive at the end of Booster One Million it could still be true a million different ways with Booster being the time travel aficionado that he is.
Also, I didn't think they were putting down Booster this time. I think it was just as Skeets said that they were protecting him from that confrontation with Lord.

I actually enjoyed the first issue and I've got a lot of faith in this book. I think the idea that Booster is once again getting slammed makes perfect sense since at this point he has to play the part of the idiot. Remember Booster is called the greatest hero that the world will never know. I agree with you guys, though. I'd like to know how Ted's death is going to be explained at this point. And I'm going to be watching Brightest Day to see if there is any mention of Max at this point, too. Personally I'm just happy to see Fire and Ice back together again. I always thought they made a great couple. What?

What a solid kick to the nuts for Booster. Spoiler...
Ted committed suicide?! As if hatign Max Lord for killing Ted wasn't easy enough. Now he has everyone believing Ted offed himself! I hope they go to Jhonn for help. Hopefully he can see around Lord's illusions. Jhonn was also part of their League so it would make sense. Also, MAGOG had no business in this story. I hope he goes away soon. He was the only down note in this second issue for me. He is just pointless and I hate him in a much different way than Lord.

Yeah, I didn't enjoy this development at all, but I guess it gives everyone more drive to find Max and kick his arse? I mean, I'm not enjoying all the Leaguers playing into Max's hands with the mass hallucinations he's sending out, and you'd think that if he was so nice and well meaning he wouldn't screw with everyone like he is, but he's a villain now, so that sucks.
I guess Magog was there to show the difference between military heroes from different generations? Or because he's currently Giffen's pet character? I'm not sure. But I stopped picking up this series two weeks ago, ha. I've kept aware of the threads-- so if Blue Beetle's scarab knows the score (at least someone is paying attention, Khaji Da...) and so does Skeets... does that mean the Metal Men do too? Red Tornado? L-Ron? Quite a few holes I do believe. Shouldn't Cyborg partly know too?
It's all a bit of a mess, I think.
Charlie.
