This has been a consistently mediocre title, at least for me. Winnick is doing very little with some very interesting characters (he has Jade and Starfire and Nightwing to work with--- and we get a focus on Grace, Shift and Indigo?!?) The retro-Outsiders two-parter was just awful (who thought this story was a good idea?) and the art was sloppy. The "Insiders" storyline was alright, but handled better in TTs. Hopefully things will get back on track with the next issue.

If NW's back, I will be, too. I only had two reasons for picking up the mag. One quit, the other died.

I though Gorilla Grodd's invasion of NY, and the Fearsome Five stuff were the best parts. Mostly, the art just turns me off (that Carlos D'Anda is not right for this title).

Well, I think this title officially lost me today. Jade (good character in bad hands) just recruited Indigo's replacement. Dick had a 'relapse' and suffers from a logical reasoning disorder I can only define as 'Winickitis', and everybody else is their boring one dimensional self. I think Winck could be the least talented writer on DC's staff (though he does write good dialogue, I will give him that), or maybe he just doesn't have a feel for these characters. Whichever, this may be my last issue.

Mmmmm... I take it you haven't been reading Grayson's Nightwing? I find that Winnick actually does a great job of building suspense. ""As The Crow Flies and "Under the Hood" had me on the edge of my seat. And then... in the final issue... he delivers endings equivalent to "and suddenly everyone was run over by a bus." And it just burns me up. Because I do feel that the man has real talent... and he's wasting it on the cheap hack endings!

Are you talking about Batman #637, with Batman and Nightwing vs Amazo? That seriously was an amazing issue.

lol it is a great issue! Anyway, with the Outsiders...I was gonna carry on reading, but now they've added *spoiler* CM3 *spoiler* I know that it's going downhill with not only the art and plots, but definitely with the characters - CM3 doesn't fit with them, and the characterisations are too bad. Goodbye, Outsiders. -sigh- And it had so much potential...

The following post contains spoilers for Outsiders #35. I suggest reading it anyhow. Reading Outsiders #35 spoiled my afternoon (fortunately, I can reread Teen Titans and IC 6 on my way home.) If it will save one person from a simlar fate my work here is done.
So... Grace and Kid Boomerang are now resorting to brutal torture... and NW is going along with it?
I understand that the man had vital information. I understand that the information led the team to uncover a bioweapon capable of annihilating the entire population of the country. I get it.
But this goes beyond the pale.
What if... what if NW had made a mistake? What if this guy DIDN'T have the info? I think I'm starting to respect Thunder more than I used to.
I'm getting a very sick feeling in my gut. I know that Outsiders is supposed to be... gritty. If Winnick is trying to scare us and make us feel what the victim is feeling, fine. It worked.
But this is not what I expect from a book that is, nominally, about the good guys. I think the Villains United crowd came across better. I get that most of the team may not want to be heroes per se, but they are blurring that line in the sand that separates them from the people they're fighting.
Someone get these people some white hats. I can't tell the good guys anymore.

Gonna go with Ellen on this one. Judd really went off the rails here. Isn't this the type of storytelling that Infinite Crisis was going to save us from? Isn't this why E2 Supes had a hissy and busted out of Luthor-Heaven?
Maybe it's not Dick, but Jason, manipunlating the team? I mean, I know Nightwing has long hair in this issue, and that presumably his teammates would know if it was the same guy or not (his mask notwithstanding), but the Nightwing in this issue is not the hero we were lead to believe that even E2 Supes admired!

Yeah, watching the torture scene made me think that Alexander Luthor and Superboy Prime were right about this Earth being Corrupted. Ooohh... The Jason idea is great! How well do these people actually know Nightwing. Since One Year later, they might actually have gotten to know Jason better than Dick.

Well... the latest issue of Detective (out today) has an odd comment made by Tim, or maybe I just read a little too much into it:
Bats: Nicely Done.
Tim: Thanks:
Bats: You're becoming... everything I'd hoped.
Tim: As good as Nightwing was?
Bats: I see the potential in you to be even better.
Do you think I'm reading too much into it?

I read the same thing. Then a co-worker pointed out that Tim was probably asking whether he would be as good a ROBIN as NW was. I pray he's right.

Oh, and in an interview, editor Joan Hilty said NW is Dick Grayson in Outsiders. Here's one thought though. It contains a spoiler for IC #6 so I'll leave some blank space.
On the last page, we see our heroes grouped around Connor's body (and Cassie weeping over him). That's NW, Bats, WW, Superman... and the E-2 Superman. If they're both on Earth-1... maybe there's more than one NW here, too...

Nah... there's 1 more Infinite Crisis issue left. All Hell's about to break loose! In the words of another Connor: 'There can be only one!'

I have a question about the DC2 Outsiders. When I tried entering, it said I needed a password. Where do I get it exactly?
