It's been a while lad's (and lasses)... I had to post this here, because the bio I wrote on the back of the package is straight outta Tales of the Green Lantern Corps: The Legion Virus Saga. This was my packaging class final (turned in today for a grade... which was an A-... the bastard). Here were the rules (because the instructor is oh-so pleased with himself when he sets lofty goals): Product: Action figure, at least 7" tall (guess who I picked?) Substrate: Chip (cardboard) with a PVC window showing at least 3 sides of the project Other: - Package had to be a unique shape, not seen before... ever... or at least by the instructors eyes (he works for Disney in their product packaging department)
- Product photography to be taken by the student (no internet images)
- All artwork had to be original (duh, it's an art school... though you'd be surprised how many people here cannot draw to save their lives)
- All legal/safety information had to be present
Here you go, let me know what you think! Front view: Back view: Left side: Right side: Legal crap:

that's some pretty epic packaging there scott! It would surely drive MOCers crazy but its freaking cool looking for sure. Looks like tons of work, I would die. So all the pictures of the other figures were your own, huh? Good thing you have that awesome collection

It certainly helped!
Yeah, it was a monumental task trying to get that thing done... and that was just the final for one of my 5 classes. Ugh... the snow storm here made it impossible to get to 3 of my other finals.

Vindication feels nice. I also like the self effacing title of your thread, too btw. It's bold and refreshing.

That's really cool. I like how you made the package into the shape of the GL logo. That is awesome.
You should work for the part of DC that designs action figure packages. They'd hail you as a friggin' genius.

You designed that? That's too cool for words. That would be the first action figure I bought. Just for the package. Well done!!!

Yeah... I'd say he freaked me out a bit with that one too... but I'm actually kind of used to it.

Strange when that seems to happen, huh? Now if I could just practically apply the math & science portion I'd be aces!

For anyone interested in looking, my web site has been updated: www.kid-studios.netAs with the previous design this one was created by me... so though it lacks technical web design skill, I can honestly say I have no one else to blame but myself!

Pretty sweet. Pretty sweet indeed.
Don't know your grading system. Was there an A* on offer?

I got an A- on the project due to another aspect of the project. But I did get an A in the class which is pretty unreal since the teacher stated he rarely gives out A's.
