Nice ending to a great story, fellas. I wish Kara had some more to do, but it looks like she'll have the spotlight next issue, so I will be patient. One last criticism: I love the disingenuous Clark as much as the next guy (maybe more!) but the dialogue is bordering on the buffoonish. That's always been your biggest challenge, Charlie, but you never seem to back down from it... I mean: Clark pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "You mean you and . . ." he made a flying motion with his hand, ". . . Superman? Golly. Guess if I have to be dumped that's a great guy to be dumped for."
" Golly?" That worked in 1978 (barely) but it simply doesn't ring true 30 years later. And what's with Clark rolling over like that?!? What is this, 1952?!? What a milquetoast! I'm surprised Lois didn't tell him to grow a pair (after she was done being mortally offended that he didn't at least make an effort to keep her, that is)! But don't get me wrong: aside from Jor-El (note the spelling, please!) breaking Lex's bones (really?), I did like the issue. It was simple, fun and easy to read, and I'm totally just being a backseat driver here so feel free to ignore my ranting ! Would have liked to have seen a cover before reading the issue, though... . I'm sure it'll be awesome, but it's disappointing early readers (okay, me) get robbed of the full experience... Somewhere, butterflies are weeping.

Butterflies... Cry? If you had told me that last night, I would have believed you, but right now... It just sounds crazy!
Glad you enjoyed the issue Dave. There'll be less bone breaking next issue. More planet destroying.

Glad you enjoyed it Dave, even with the parts you didn't like. Charlie's not to blame for the dialouge though, that was all me. Charlie was a little busy so I took it and ran with it. I assure you that Jor-El's bone breaking was purely accidental, and I didn't make that clear.
And I spelled it Jor-El! I swear!
Uh....Clark and Superman are the same person, He really would be a dick to fight for Lois as Clark after Superman just asked her to go steady, wouldn't he? Although.....hmmmmm, that way he's sure to wind up with her no matter who wins......hmmmmmmmmmmm Lois could have kept them both and then Clark tried to weasel out of it. hmmmmmmm
And yes I like the meek, mild mannered Clark Kent who hides behind the milquetoast veneer, only to strip away the facade in times of trouble to become the greatest hero the world has ever known . . . SUPERMAN
Yes, more Kara coming next issue. Keep reading and reaching for the stars!
Charlie butterlies not only cry they wail and moan and gnash probosci!

This arc has been a blast to edit. Everyone has really brought their A game to the table, and I just want to say that I'm extremely proud of Roy for taking on the challenge of getting in the drivers seat with this title. The man is multi-talented, and apprently very good at multi tasking as well.
Charlie, well, we all know what Charlie can do, and I always look forward to it! The guy knows his comics, and he's done some really great stuff on this site, this book included!
The cover, by the way, was terrific as well. They always are. Give yourselves a round of applause, gentleman, all.

So Clark was an android. That explains it. I was sure it had to be Martian Manhunter or some other shifter.
Lex has really gone around the bend.
Looking forward to Supergirl!

This was a satisfying conclusion to the story. Sure there was more cheesy dialogue that bordered on ridiculous, especially with Lois and Clark in regards to her pursuing a relationship with Superman.
I am still a bit torn between Superman pursuing a relationship with Lois instead of Clark, but I understand it’s the traditional thing to do.
I have never been a big fan of how Lois is always portrayed as the pushy reporter over everything else. It gets down right annoying. Maybe its me, but I am still hoping to see her develop more as a person outside of the newsroom.
I was never a fan of the mad scientist version of Lex Luthor but I manged to enjoy it here a little more then I imagined I would. Luthor is down but not out, that’s for sure.
Another tender moment as Jor-El made the ultimate sacrafice…again.
And the explanation about “Clark” was simple yet ingenious. Great job.
Now Kara has to go home? Interesting.
A great cover by the art team here.
4 stars.
