Finally! Somebody who knows how to pace a story! Can you teach that to the current DC writers. As I read I keep skipping ahead not wanting to wait to see what comes next. This is great! I love it that Lois is part of the story but she not in the middle of the story . . .yet. Keep it coming. I find myself looking forward to this more than comic day! |

Great second issue. The descriptions of the fight scenes and the destruction they caused were great. I also enjoyed the set-up for Captain Marvel and the appearance of Max Lord. I really can't wait for the next issue.

I'm gonna' say here, as its quite the hot topic, that David Charlton, the writer/editor known as IDLEWILDER, is one talented guy. He's writing half the titles on this site to get them started, and has put LOADS of time into this project. He spends all his free moments answering PMs and writing stories, editing peoples work and then posting them past midnight every tuesday night... I'd just like to say thanks to him, and I hope all you guys agree that Dave rocks!

Getting this site off the ground and still turning out so many entertaining and quality stories was no easy feat I'm sure, but he has done a stellar job. This is without a doubt the house that David built and I have to give a huge thanks to our fearless leader for having the vision and determination to see this project through and giving us all a new hobby! |

Thanks, fellas, but to be fair I have to share the credit with every single staff writer and artist that have made the DC2 an interesting and visually stunning place to hang out. And as hard as I've worked, I never would have gotten this project off the ground if not for the hard work and committment, right from the start, of Brandon and Charlie. I share this Oscar with them...

I'm just saying that the Kryptonian villains were imprisoned on Krypton and just crashed onto Earth, and are immediately communicating with humans in English. Is there an explanation for that or just suspension of disbelief? |

Was typing very fast there! They've been living in a phantom dimension for a long LONG time, so suspend belief! Here's a good explanation. Their contact with the crystals of THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE enabled them to learn the language. or. How did the Kryptonians that crashed landed in SMALLVILLE on the season premiere know English? How do the Amazons on Paradise Island know English? How do the Atlanteans communicate in English? You can run that question in all directions and the blanks are easy to fill in with a little imagination. A lot of shows, Farscape, Star Trek, etc., throw in quick explanations here and there, sometimes seemingly as an afterthought to explain away these things to satisfy picky fans who put silly details ahead of the elements of good storytelling.

All the time, as in our second month of putting out material? Thanks, we certainly encourage and appreciate valid criticisms. The point is that this is a common question in fiction like this, sometimes explained and sometimes not. For Star Trek it took years to explain why all the aliens spoke English, and decades to explain why most of the aliens were humanoid. Has Stargate ever explained it? Was it explained in Superman 2 when Zod and company arrived? Many times these types of questions inspire other stories later on. My question is, did you enjoy the story? ;D Or has this one common element of science fiction stories ruined it for you? |

I think KSM has given as good an answer to this question as can be had, but I would add that in these serielized fanfictions we do, the writer has to make certain story-telling choices, in a limited space to do it in (to keep the reader hooked), and sometimes relatively minor details (that don't effect plot or character) can get swept under the rug. And rightly so! If you are looking for 100% internal consistency, this just isn't the medium for it. At the end of the day, these are still stories about guys that defy gravity, run at the speed of light and talk to fish. |

The whole arc with Zod AND Bizarro is great. Why do they know english? Who gives a flying Kryptonian poop? I want t know when Bizzaro am not returning? Also the whole cloning of Superman thing leaves an opening for a certain other DC character to appear in the dc2.

Explaining the issue of "how do the aliens speak english? " Is apprpriate if AND ONLY IF it is central to the story. If it is not.. then leave it for another time { if ever }. This story device is very much common throughout sci-fi/fantasy fiction. The alternative is to drone endlessly on like a ST : TNG technobabble monologue; which lets be honest were mostly long winded ways of saying something is happenning and we need to take care of it quick!!!
By the way, great pacing and hook at the end ... bring on the world's mightiest mortal!!!!!!!!
