Wow! What a great arc from beginning to finish. From cover to end this was fantastic and the battle scene's were out of this world. It has been more then a pleasure to read this!Looking forward to the future as well and am sure it will be just as fun.
Thanks for a great ride!

What a fun arc! Fast paced & enthralling... interesting to see Zod live to fight another day! Lex Luthor... a hero? The humanity!

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed that Captain Marvel was a no-show. But what a setup! CC Batson! I Love it! And Billy killed by Dr. Sivahna! I have a feeling that Captain Marvel is going to explode into the DCU2 in a big way! It was great, a full story in three issues with subplots to continue and pick up later. What do you mean I don't have to wait a whole year to read a full story? I find myself looking more forward the the DCU2 Wednesday than the DC Wednesday! David your writing is so vivid that I can see it happening as I read it. When Supes landed on the ship I can see the grandeur in that scene, and then when he talks to General Lane I can see supes humbled by Lane as a father figure. The fight at pole was pure poetry. Looking forward to see what direction the new writer will take Supes and how the subplots will play out. Thank for a great story David. PS. I love the fact that Lois had her own adventure that was loosely tied to the main story. I know Superman and Lois Lane go together like peanut butter and jelly, but sometimes don't you just want one or the other, so you can savor their individual flavors?

Thanks to all for their kind words and praise, and especially to Goldk for the feedback above. Yes, the trip to Fawcett City was an intentional tease, and Captain Marvel will be hitting the DC2 soon in a big way--- maybe sooner than you think! But, if you read the scene carefully, I never say Sivana killed Billy...

Awesome work, IW! Great story all the way through. We got to see all the major players in Superman's cast and a really well developed environment for Superman to work in. The action scenes and battles were larger than life and entertained all the way through. Now I can't wait to see where the Captain Marvel storyline picks up here, uh, before too long.

Thank you, KSM. My intention here was the same as in Detective Comics--- to tell an entertaining Superman story and establish his staus quo for our continuity. There are big plans afoot at the DC2 for the Man of Steel, and I know that woundedtrojan will take this title to new heights, as his run starts next issue!
And as for Captain Marvel--- look to the skies!

Damn. Just damn. Amazing arc, that. Love the Superman here, and seriously loving Lois Lane even more (which is unusual because I generally have never even really liked Lois). I was totally squealing over the Captain Marvel bit though, that was great. Unexpected, but amazingly awesome.

Great overall arc David! I am so looking forward to seeing Captain Marvel enter the DC2 with a bang. He has been one of the most under-used characters in the DCU since the regular Power of Shazam series ended! Also looking forward to the next writers take of Big Blue! You definitely set the standard here for what Superman should be!

Excellent first arc. I like your writing style and the characterizations were spot-on for me. Thought for a moment we were going to see a Supes/Marvel team-up but maybe that will be elsewhere. Great way to start a Superman title.

Just read the arc. Bravo! You took 3 issues and packed them full of more action, twists, and true character driven story than 12 issues of that crappy "For Tommorow". The best thing was that none of characters did totally dumb out of character actions just to advance the plot. "For Tommorow" and so many other comics have writers create tension at the expense of logic or common sense. The supposed tension between WW, Bats, the JLA, and Supes made no sense, the characters acted in ways totally against their nature in FT. In your tale Clark, Lois, Luthor, Zod, and the rest all acted the way they should. The plot logically pushed forward, conflicts naturally occurred, and you could feel connected to the story because you could understand why each character was acting. Just a refreshing change from so much I have been dropping good money to buy.
Now can we get Jim Lee to draw it?

Solid first Arc ... great way to launch this line off. The tough test in serialized story telling is to give the readers a sense of fullfillment without making the ending completely definitive.
Threads are left here that others can pick up on in future issues to explore what happens next for Zod and his lackies.
That is just how it should be ... even over at that OTHER DC { LOL }.
