Superman! Kitty Faulkner! John Henry Irons! Lex Luthor! And the 'Fist of the Guardians'! Who could ask for anything more? Charles you continue to amaze with this story that has truly shaped up to be an EPIC tale! I eagerly await the conclusion in Action comics!!!

This is a really good story and I like the enemy. I also like the stories with Lex that have been going down simultaneously. It's almost hard to keep up with everything everyone's doing! One thing though, your jokes. I'm sorry, but having Sawyer point out John's name and suit similarites? The original writers for the character were thinking that but it's a bit lame and umprofessional to do that. Also, you guys are all so serious all the time! Superman jokes sometimes when he fights. Even when they're serious fights, like if the bad guy is ranting on how he's secretly evil he can tell them to shove it! He doesn't have to get so soul-searchy. Save it so that when he does get like that we can recognize that this is a really serious problem, (like Maggedon or something), otherwise every fight will be this big emotional rollecoaster and people will start to get nauseous and sad.
There it had to be said, now with that out of the way, kick ass, Steel!

It's not lame, it's just a bad joke, which Maggie was saying in the middle of a firefight... And who said I was a professional anyway?

This roller coaster ride just keeps getting better! Was thrilled to see Irons and Maggie, both. And you had me laughing out loud with the "last son of Krypton" comments. Excellent story, can't wait to read the conclusion.

OH MY GOD. What a great concept/villian/god/monster. I can tell you take issue with "the last son of krypton" moniker. as well you should. I too always thought the number of kryptonians running around the galaxy was a bit overdone. It never occured to me either that all the kryptonians other than superman that we meet are evil, hmmmmmm. I would love to see this whole story line drawn out like a graphic novel. Some of the imagery you paint is just fantastic. I love the cosmic spanning scope to it yet you manage to bring it back down to "earth" (pun intended) by still showing the supporting characters. I don't like Luthor as being "helpful" and by that I don't mean that I don't like that part of the story. Within the story it bothers me, Luthor does nothing unless it's in his own interest. I wonder how bizarro and kru-el are going to figure into this? I really like the story and the pacing. The narrative is not too heavy handed. Characters explain themselves at the proper time without it sounding like a Chris Claremont diatribe...IE: "I am wolverine, I'm a mutant and this is what I do." blah blah blah. Looking forward to what's sure to be the epic conclusion!

This just keeps getting better & better Chuck! I honestly don't know what to expect next... other than what I already know. I am floored!
I think the somber tone of this arc has to do with the villain that brings out the fear in people. If this villaini brought out jolly-good feelings, I'm sure Supes would be more inclined to crack a joke or two.
Awesome cover too! You guys keep on rocking!

Great story! I think Supes surely has a sense of humor but this is a pretty serious problem he is dealing with here. Maybe Spiderman could joke at a time like this but Superman I don't think so. If my city were about to be destroyed by Black Zero I'd have some self doubts and soul searching to do.
