I was worried. Everything was in place. The hype was there. Would this be the biggest letdown ever?
ARE YOU FREANKIN' KIDDING!!!!
This story blew the doors wide open on the Crisis. I am at a lose for words on how good this was. I never expected it to be better then I hoped, but it was. Charlie (+ David) My hats off to you! I had to be stressful kicking off this event. BUT YOU MADE THIS EVENT CHARLIE! Thank you!
From the cover and logo to every intense word. All thats left to say is Brilliant!

Everybody is really going above and beyond for this event, from the writers to the Art Department, but Charlie really deserves special recognition--- he wrote 4 of the 14 issues in this crossover, including this slam-bang opening shot.
And what an issue! If this doesn't get the dander up, nothing will! This had to be one of the best fight scenes on the site.

And a special shout-out to Roy Flinchum, our very own Goldk, who turned out not only this ominous cover (the mystery cover figure is at last revealed!), but the site's weekly banner! What a great, dramatic image, capturing a pivotal scene in this issue's tense climax!

Holy #@$%! oops, I mean WHOA! The opening left me absolutely floored! Idle is correct in saying that this is one of the (if not the) best battle scene written to date. This showed us exactly how high the stakes are in this event. Everything about this story was excellent. I don't want to say to much more and spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet, but the whole thing with Lois was perfectly executed and about time! All three issue's really deserve best of the week but I gave it to Charlie, David and Roy for kicking this baby off from 0 to 100 mph in two seconds flat! Great writing and great art. Congrats to all!

oh... my... god.... What can I say that hasn't been said a few times already? Great job Charlie, if there was ever a time I was glad you didnt high tail it back when you said you were going to THIS is it. And I have got to admit that my favorite part wasnt even the amazing action scenes but the cool little segments of supporting characters that you added in but my gosh, did you NEED to push Black Zero on even further than it already was!?! Also great job Roy for kicking too much ... on the cover this month, i felt queezy even having to cover up the little bit on the bottom of the page because it was so cool. Oh and of course Dave for editting and making this come together, well done everyone. Have a pat on the back or something.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Wow! I know in the credits it says additional material by David. I don't know who supplied this line but it sums up Superman!
"The crowd began to rumble, then cheer, as a beaten and battered Superman rose out of the pit, struggling at first but then determined, strong and then… he smiles, and sets off for the sky." he smiles, after all that he smiles!!! BRAVO! The scene with Lois and Superman, BRAVO! Thanks to all you guys for the comments on the art. Thank you for keeping me in the dark on the story! Hear that sound? Nope, it's not a boom tube! It's thunderous applause! Roy

Thank you all for the kind words, and I hope that the rest of my IXE tie ins live up to this standard I've set up for myself... Ack! And Roy... I love that cover. It says everything about the event it needs to. Theres a bit of red, bit of green, a lot of shadow, and a hell of a lot of menace

No one has mentioned poor Dan Turpin yet! Can't the poor guy get a break? I believe his body was "liquified", right Charlie? Does this mark the first official death in the DC2? Hmm. Won't be the last. Week 3 is a bloodbath...!

You squished Turpin! I was in shock! Shock, I tell you! I'm with Batarang: what can I say that hasn't already been said? Doomsday in the form of Kru-El was a surprise, as was Lois and Supes sharing a certain moment. I just hope they all live through this!
