Interesting idea linking in Count Vertigo's origin into Queen Industries, but why does a hero have to have a villain who's origins and powers stem from a mistake in the hero's past? It's always confused me. I liked this, it was a solid, effective story! Can't wait to see what else you offer the DC2!

Very nice job! I actually liked the take on the count. It makes it much more personal between the two of them. I really thought this was a terrific story. Great job, Shoe!
Also love all the covers this week, but if I had to pick cover of the week, this one is it for me. Awesome job, guys!!!

This was a pleasant surprise! I love Green Arrow and have waited for his first DC2 solo tale.
Green Arrows 4 issue mini from 1983 was my first exposure to the Emerald Archer. In that series I was also introduced the Count Vertigo who went on a few years later to have a bigger role in John Ostrander's Suicide Squad . So good memory's all around!
There seemed to be more focus on the Count more then Ollie in this story, which was OK. I liked the slight twists on the Counts origin and powers. Green Arrow was written well and in character. It seems both you and Brian can handle the man in green tights as well, if not better then certain people at DC! This story demands a sequel and rematch for Ollie and Werner!
This was a well written tale so I can't wait to see what you have planned for the DC2 next! Maybe you could be convinced to write a story for Rogues Gallery?
Also I can't go without saying what a phenomenal job was done on the cover! The art team of Jim and Scott return to deliver their best cover yet!!! Great job guys!

First of all, tremendous cover, but you already knew that.
I enjoyed this story. I happen to like villains who have direct connections to their hero adversaries. When next they meet, it's for real and for blood. I like your take on Count Vertigo. He and his army would probably make a good challenge for the New Outsiders down the line. I also like the ending: there's no clear winner and loser, and Green Arrow is shown to have weaknesses and faults in his character. Too often stories have a nice tidy hero-beats-the-villain-the end conclusion. This one is up in the air. Good job.

Great stuff here. I've only had spare exposure to Count Vertigo, so it was cool to read a whole story involving him. However, I think part of the story is missing: at one point, we go from Viper stabbing some woman in the hand to Vertigo getting a message that Viper had now been taken out. Was there supposed to be a scene in-between?
