This was excellent! There was so much that went on in this issue. Every page, every line, was terrific. As much as I have enjoyed the OYL Aquaman, I wish it was as enjoyable as this. This is the Aquaman I look forward to reading every month. Great job with everything. Really loved Orin comment wondering if the were both cursed.

The more I thought about this issue, the more fascinating it became. This issue really shows not only the care and passion that both Brandon and Scott have for this character, but for that silver age feeling that I've seen in this series...and others that they have written. So much so, that the change of writers was absolutley flawless! It stood on its own and blended beautifully with what Brandon had already created. Really great! Sorry, really bowled over on this entire series. I'll stop babbeling now.

A big huge thanks to Scott for helping me fill in this month. I've had a very busy schedule lately so this story couldn't have come at a better time. Plus hopefully it will allow me to get Aquaman back into its original, second Wed. of the month, timeslot.
Just a quick bit of history for those of you that are newer to the site. This site evolved out of another one, where Scott was the writer and all around Aquaguy. The other site is where I met up with most of these guys and had a huge amount of respect for what they had accomplished there. When this site started, Scott wasn't able to join us right away when we launched so I wound up being the Aquaman writer. I always felt a little guilty as I knew what a tremendous job Scott had been doing with the title previously and his love for the character. So I've been writing this series to blend with what he had done before, in hopes that we would see some of his work here (most notably his amazing Year One arc that establishes Arthur as King of Atlantis). I've been writing my stories leading to the event of Atlantis being revealed to the world, but didn't really know how to handle that story. Recently I was researching some material on Black Manta and when referencing some of what Scott had done before with that character I ran across this story, and realized he had already told the tale. So with some minor changes we have this month's story!
I wasn't entirely sure when to run this, originally wanting to hold it a little closer to IXE, but when I got in a pinch for time this month it was put on the fast track. So, the story solicited for this month will instead appear here in two weeks time to restore Aquaman back to his regular schedule.
And how about that cover! Roy, I know this was originally done for an Art Challenge, but your artwork truly transcended what we were doing there and I knew I had to use this pic for a cover! Thanks to you sir for letting me use it and the great coloring job!
Again, amazing work by Scott and Roy this month and I'm not just saying that because they saved my butt. ;D Great issue guys!

Another excellent issue. Love the direction this series is going. Great to see the interactions with Superman and showing just how powerful Aquaman truly is. Not many characters are able to make Superman take a step back. Seemed like all the characters were brought out for this one; Garth, Mera, Koryak, Krell, even Luthor. This series does have an epic sweep that keeps me wanting more. Keep up the good work.

I love it when a plan comes together...uh I mean a universe. I love it when a character interacts with the other characters in the universe. I know Aquaman has his own story to tell and it's a great story on it's own. When characters from other books show up to play supporting roles I love it, when it's done right, and here it was done right. I know I sound like a broken record but everyone here has a genuine respect for these characters and it shows it through every story by staying within character. (drinking game, every time I write character take a drink) I loved the scene with Aquaman and Supes, and Supes coming to help. Aquaman's initial distrust is right on. Not only is Superman from the surface world, but not even "this" world. hhhhmmmm Aquatic life on krypton? Anyway. Hey, remember the original Superfriends opening credits? A tidal wave is heading for the city and Supes rips off the blade from a bulldozer and tosses it to Aquaman and then he rips off one for himself and they hold up the blades against the wave. I think people forget how powerful Aquaman is. Great issue and thanks for the kind words on the cover. Isn't it funny how sometimes, you turn out the best stuff when you just let go and have fun? UP UP AND . . . aw the heck with it, bye.

I cannot wait to see it! I did one before, but the Superman was Super-lame, so I quickly retconned it.
