Good issue! Glad to see the King of the Seas is back on the site! Great jumping on point, which I guess explains the expositiony language in this issue. Can't wait for the next one!

WOO HOO!!!! Not only is Arthur back, but he's better than every thanks to Pat. This is a terrific stepping on point for everyone. It's obvious that Pat has several stories he's laying a foundation for (my favorite kind of writing, personally) and each one is just as fascinatin and compelling in its own right. A quick thank you for the nod to continuity with Tempest. It's much appreciated. I'm very intrigued by his story. Ocean Master and Black Manta... very nice! And the way you reaffirmed Aquaman and Mera's love for each other was well crafted. Also, a huge shout out for such a well drawn and beautifully colored cover. 5 stars from me on this one!

Great issue Mr. Owen.
***** from me on the story.. it's GREAT to see the Lord of Atlantis back and better than ever.
***** from me on the cover.
I had chills when The Ocean Master appeared. I think Aquaman is in good hands for sure.

Thanks Daniel! Yeah this issue was to primarily to set up all of the plotlines that will be going through the title while I'm writing it. Thanks for the kind words Brian Laying "seeds" of what is to come is also my favorite kind of plot writing. To offer little hints and foreshadowing of what is to come. I loved making a small continuity nudge to Titans West. And considering you were the one who first reminded me to be careful of continuity when I got to the board, your praise of me using it makes me even happier ;D I had two main goals for this issue. Set up future plotlines and re-establish the relationships between different characters. Orin and Mera being the main relationship while also showing others like Garth and Tula's, Garth and Orin, and a small scene with Orm and Vulko. I am so grateful to have joey doing the covers for me on this. His art is fantastic and the details he puts into each character's design is awesome. Thanks Jay! I think he deserves six...but whatever Ocean Master has only made a few brief appearances through DC2 and the fun part is that the readers know of his identity but the characters are still in the dark about it. Thanks for all of the praise guys! Aquaman was the title I originally pitched a run for on the site and I'm happy to be writing his adventures.

Stellar work on returning Aquaman to a place we can enjoy on DC2. This book has always suffered from delays, and I think that's a shame. I love the character, though I know some people don't, and I think that 2009 is going to really be the year of the character (and we both know why, sir). Brilliant first issue, I'll be back next issue inevitably, and it's good to see some passion return to this title!

Very nice first effort, Pat! I felt the dialogue and characterization was a little awkward in places, but the plotting was good, and it looks like you have an epic story brewing, chock-full of the stuff that makes Aquaman unique!
That cover is beautiful! Best of the week, to me!
It is great to see the King of the Seven Seas back on the site--- and it looks like he is in good hands! See you next month!

Thanks!
Thanks. Yeah dialogue has always been something I've struggled a bit with but I've been working on it a bit lately.
Three words: JOEY. IS. GOD.
Thanks again for reading.
