The Shark was freaking terrifying! Just the right tone for the villain, and I'm glad that I got a chance to see the opening before this issue posted! A lot of intrigue is developing across the board and I can't wait to see where all this goes... and what with the teaser that's floating about the site (yeah, I went there) I know we're in for a good year for Aquaman!

Thanks Charlie. Because this was the first appearance of The Shark in DC2, I wanted to fully establish how much of a monster this version is. I'm hoping this will be a good year for Aquaman too Thanks for reading!

ahem. sorry that was my initial reaction from that issue lol Good stuff great stuff in fact. I love the intro of Shark King and you've weaved a very compelling voice for Garth and Orin... BY Far my favourite book of 2009. This is great stuff. I love Aquaman and you've done a good job and revitalizing a very important character... congrats. I'll be on board for however long you steer the ship, Captain.

Aquaman is right up there with Flash and Green Lantern right now. Great stories, great writing, great covers, and great characterization. Yes, Shark King is scary as all hell, but the writers wonderful pros that describe Orin cutting through the water has me mezmerized! I actually feel as though I'm right in the middle of the action here. Brilliant. Really! Can't wait to start seeing your work on that other title...

Saying Aquaman's up there with Flash and GL is really flattering cause Kevin and Dan are doing fantastic work on those titles. Just noticed a little thing. There's THE SHARK and KING SHARK(I even get confused sometimes ) The Shark's the killer and King Shark is the guy they're going to go after because they think he's behind it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough but that'll be a lot more clear next issue because they'll both be in it. Can't wait to work on that other title either . Thanks for reading!

I am doing some catch-up on some titles and characters I've neglected too long--- and Aquaman is one of my favorite!
Nice job here, Pat! Good to see the building of Aquaman's rogue's gallery! And fantastic freaking cover by the always awesome Joey Jarin!
