Xthulu is coming! Fantastic! This arc is turning out to be a very dark, very exciting piece of writing, and I'm looking forward to every twist and turn that awaits with coming issues. Mera was fantastic, putting Thanatos in his place like he needed to be-- his heel/face turn should be a delight, and Orm is a brilliantly conflicted individual, and his reign is going to leave some lasting effects on the kingdom of Aquaman. See you next month!

Thank you Yeah, I really wanted a scene where we really got to see what Thanatos is thinking during all of this and I really wanted Mera to be the one to point out just how naive he is being. Indeed it will ;D See ya there!

Yes! Breakthrough issue!
This story just keeps getting better and better. Aquaman has such an interesting and underused supporting cast--- not to mention Rogues' Gallery!--- and they are all used to great effect in this issue!
One has to hate Orm, but he is actually the most-fully developed character in this run so far! I actually felt some sympathy for him in this issue, especially when he had his confrontation with his mother. Merganys is shaping up to be a mastermind behind the scenes, especially given the Xuthulhu revelation!
I wasn't sure where the whole Scavenger subplot was going but this issue paid off big time as now the Surface World forces align against Atlantis.
Mera is a badass. Garth is in trouble! Where in the world is Aquaman...?!? Who will weild the Trident of Neptune when Xuthulhu rises again?!?
Favorite scene of the issue: when Lord Ladon shows his true colors. Very scary and very dramatic! Very well done, Pat! Another big pay-off!
And again with the awesome cover! I am just loving the hard-edged fantasy vibe to Paul's undersea images. They compliment this title perfectly!
This creative team is getting better and better with each issue, and I can't wait to see what comes next! Five stars!

Woot woot! ;D Thanks and I totally agree that they are very underused. Hell, in DCU for awhile(until Blackest Night) there had been like no Aquaman anything forever. It was like that whole chunk of DC vanished. I love writing Orm! He's fun because you have to really tread that line of good guy/bad guy. He isn't full on evil but he most certianly isn't a hero. Yes, Merganys is definitely that mastermind here and we got to see exactly what she wanted with Orm but as you saw, he wasn't going to go along so easily. Yeah, I originally had the Scavenger stuff in its own little arc before King's Reign where it would've been much different but I tweaked things in my plotline a bit and decided it'd be best served here. The Scavenger plot is going to play a big role in 2010's stories but they still have a bit more here...that is, if they survive Ladon's attack QUOTED FOR TRUTH ;D All your questions will be answered by the end of this arc I'm really glad to hear that because I struggled with that scene for awhile. I didn't want it to be so fast paced that it was like "poof" he's a serpent now. I felt the scene needed to be drawn out, detailing his transformation and the pain he was going through during it. Lord Ladon was an idea I had when I was trying to come up with original villains for Aquaman. I wanted something that was from the darkest parts of the oceans, the parts we have never even fully mapped out. At first, I was thinking of like a giant angler fish but preferred something that scared me a bit more. I've always had a big fear of snakes and the idea of a giant snake monster emerging from the ocean scares the crap out of me. The name though, I owe to Charlie who helped me brainstorm ideas for what he could be called. So a shout out to Charlie for that one 100% agree. Paul's already shown be a sneak peek for next month's cover and is it awesome! We'll be working together on this book for as long as we can. Thanks for reading and leaving some feedback, Dave! Always cool to see what you have to say. Hope to see you next month!

Another amazing issue. As David already pointed out, this issue really gives the supporting cast and our main bad guys a chance to shine. Very nice. Every scene with Mera in it was intense. I love a strong female character and in this issue we get to see the Queen in top form. She stole this issue and ran away with it! Poor Garth. I'm very worried... Great job all around and I'm anxiously waiting for the next chapter.

I was a bit worried that Aquaman's absense could hurt the issue but I'm glad it turned out okay! Mera was a blast to write this issue and I'm happy she stole the show! You should be Thanks for reading and leaving some feedback, Brian!
