Nice "catch your breath" issue, Pat, although given the events it isn't much of one. I'd hazard to say that this is a turning point in the story of Orin especially with the king gone and the former inhabitants of Atlantis already starting to turn on each other and distrust still rampant with both Thanatos and King Shark.
Let's just hope that Mortimer with the newly found swagger gets his comeuppance sooner than later and that Orin is able to make his escape... and where did Mortimer learn about a artifact from? That certainly came out of the blue.

Oops, just noticed you left the comment here Yeah, as you can saw, Aquaman's absense is creating quite a bit of tension between people and well King Shark and the Atlanteans are probably never going to fully get along. Though I like writing King Shark's relationship to Aquaman and that that translated with King Shark telling Mera that their even. Let's just say who's ever running the reorganized O.G.R.E. is quite knowledgeable. Thanks for reading and leaving some feedback!

A good 'catch-up' issue, characters taking stock of their situation, tensions and emotions and relief in varying measures, and that was good to see. The characters each seemed to have their own voices, and the pacing of the story was solid, with decent-sized scenes of dialog were mixed nicely with quick bursts of action and suspense with Aquaman and his allies. Some of the backstory for OGRE is iffy to me, what with the guy's motivations about warning the US about threats, and the government's reactions, and the like, but on the other hand, I can chalk a lot of that up to "unreliable narrator" since his dingy seems to be a little leaky. That and I'm notoriously nit-picky about such things. LOL But a good, solid effort on this, and you're definitely at home with the series and its characters, a very cool thing to see indeed. Take care Don

Thanks for reading, Don! Glad you liked the balance between the action and breather stuff. Mortimer was recruited and talked into joining these guys due to his warnings about Atlantis not being taken seriously by his superiors and then seeing what horrors the ocean really had when Lord Ladon ripped his arm off and nearly killed him. All of those emotions were twisted by the yet identified new leader of O.G.R.E. who will be named next issue. Thanks again for checking out the issue and leaving a comment, Don! I really enjoy writing the series and I'm glad that shows through.
