I thought that it was solidly written and followed what we've known forever about Bruce's back story very well, while bringing out Bruce's obsessive going over and over the incident which essentially killed him in every way but physically. The flashback sections were nicely done with a bit more life and--dare I say it in Batman?--humor and even some hints of sex between Mom and Dad.
I did think that the dialogue was a little stilted and forced, but overall--nice job!

Nice. I like they way you use mostly dialogue to tell your story. It's very different from how I write (I usually use more internal paragrapghs and paragraphs describing what is happening) but different isn't bad. It's really great. It kept me wanting to read. It really kept me into the story, and never made me say "When's this gonna end!!!". You do a good job really keeping the reader's attention. Once again, Great Job!

The first person narrative was very well done, Charlie. It's nice to see Batman as more than a grim a$$h@le for once, and you gave him the hint of a sense of humor! Are you leading up to a world's finest team up, with that bit at the end?

Bray-vo! Bray-vo! (sticks fingers in her mouth and whistles) I likes me some Batman, so I read your story first. I'll keep coming back if you keep writing!

Excellent. Bravo. Bats is one of my fave's and you captured him wonderfully and I agree with the other posts. He didn't come off as a lunatic a#@hole. I too thought the dialogue was a tad forced, but you've got me waiting for another month!

Chuck...
I liked it! Interesting method in storytelling, using Bruce's thoughts to describe everything... very unique. I enjoyed... keep it up!

I have to say this was good. It didn't add anything new to the Batmans origin, but why mess with a classic you know? I am off to read issue two!

Nice start here. I am especially intrigued by the introduction { retcon } of mental instability in Bruce. It is very fitting for the character and should pay dividends in future storylines.

Really good.
In my opinion, you should make him a little darker. But other than that it was a great read. ;D

An excellent origin story. I liked the way you go from Bat's past to his present.

A good, well written retreading of the classic Batman origin! Really well done.

A good, well written retreading of the classic Batman origin! Really well done. Bloody Hell, as the writer of this issue, I would wildly disagree, but I thank you for taking the time to read!

I was hurried for time. Let me try and correct myself. All I meant, in the short time I had left on the pc, was that I really enjoyed how you handled the backstory. By that I mean the shooting.
One my major flaws, in general, is my terrible vocabulary and misuse of words. In other words, 'retreading' - after looking it up - definitely doesn't fit. I cant think of another word and I'm not going to try in case I wind up insulting you again. (TBC - char limit on my phone)

Anyway, I really loved how you put such an emphasis on Bruce's parents only really going to the cinema for him. Things like that can definitely rack up the guilt points, and goes some way to explaining Batman's seemingly teetering mental state which, as mentioned earlier, could make for some interesting stories!
Sorry if my original post upset you, that was never my intention. Sometimes I just get words mixed up... I'm planning to read the entire series, its really great so far!

I don't think Charlie was offended; in fact, I think he was being humble and flattered. Completely! Sorry English_Dave, I'm just well aware that early Batman is not my best work, and I kind of cringe when people still read it. American_Dave chatted about it last week or so, and it's just... ohh. Terrible. So you giving me such kind feedback was really cool of you!

Hi.
I'm new around here, and rather than try and jump right into the current titles without any context, I decided to start by catching up on the back issues of some of my favorite characters. Batman is #1 for me so I ended up at issue 0 and enjoyed it a lot! Can't wait to read more.
I know this is kind of...er...old now, and my opinions may not be of much use, but my favorite bits were: the dark, violent interpretation of the Riddler; the functional bat-ears (You thought they were for show!); and the descriptions of Batman's tactics...nice and brutal!
Thanks!
