This has been a solid mystery so far, and it's not let up once! And now the mystery deepens... Who is Redwing?! Can't wait for the next issue!

This has been a great series to read, and this chapter is right up there with the rest of them. Grant's writing is riveting and I've really grown to love the main character.
I also have a feeling that we've been teased with a certain somebody. Can't wait to see if I'm right.
Great job, Grant. 5 Stars!

So you called him Redwing? Eh? Interesting. Like the costume. *changes somebody else's name who won't appear for a long time in his own work*
Wrath is scary as hell.
Edit: Forgot to mention, loved the Constantine cameo.

Wrath will be cool...will he be sporting his pink Batman costume though??? ;D ;D Also Redwing sounds interesting. Now I think I know who it could be as does everyone else here but knowing this story so far I bet it isnt and I bet your just throwing curv balls. But the highlight for me was Constantine without a doubt. But reading this issue made me really appreciate the detail you go into and how everything you say is worked on very well to make it 'Gothamy' such as colloquailismsemses and gotham slang which I find very very cool!

Hey thanks guys. I am glad you are enjoying the story so far! ;D About Redwing. I am not going totally tip my hand here, although astute readers of Batman comics over the last 20 years or so might have picked up on a big clue in this story as to who Redwing is. But that is all I am saying! Quester: No, the Wrath will NOT be wearing the pink/brown suit from the Mike Bar special of 1984. lol For those who do not know, the Wrath is an anti-Batman villian from the 1980s. He was like an evil Batman -similar origin, similar outfit...but he turned to crime. I always hated DC obession with villians who are the exact opposite of the heroes - Bizzaro, The Reverse Flash, the Wrath, Black Adam etc - all just like the heroes, only bad. Still, when I wrote city of crime I thought the Wrath would be a perfect general concept to worth with in terms of a villian - someone who remains an "anti-Batman" but one who is not at all campy, but it truly as obessed and skilled as Batman is...only in a much more destructive fashion. You've seen a hint of The Wrath's motivations in this issue, and there will be more to come next issue and when we move away from Batman's past and zip back into the present in the sequel to City of Crime, Trauma that starts in Batman #21. As for what the Wrath looks like...well, you'll just have to wait and see. but he is one hell of lot scarer than a buy in a pink batsuit.

I actually tried to click on that "Maddox.jpg" link... This series just made a sharp 90-degree turn from standard hard-boiled detective story to creepy occultish "Seven" nightmare. When Constantine sounds worried, you know you've got problems! I cannot wait to see how this wraps up next issue!

A really good read. I liked the pace of it, which seems to be getting faster as we go along.

With the sequel to this story currently running in the ongoing Batman series (part 3 finally is out this week) I thought it was worth reminding everyone what a fantastic series this was. Though it isn't required reading to enjoy the current Batman arc, this series rocked from start to finish and is worth checking out if you haven't yet. And since I haven't given my thoughts on this issue yet... I felt that you really hit your stride here and was prepared to race to the finish. I loved Fynn's reaction to finally coming face to face with the Batman. That entire scene was fantastic and really put Batman's persona into a completely different perspective. Then you go and throw in Constantine who is indeed a very charming guy! The Wrath is building up to be a very creepy villain and the electronic dialogue between him and Fynn worked really well. The conversation between Fynn and Vale about the car was funny. It reminded me of Gone in 60 seconds. Of course the ending was the best….Red who?
