“Can I come out now?” The boy asked.
“I just wanted to protect you…I never meant to lose…I need you to help me fight this.” Batman took the hand of the young Bruce and they started to walk away from the cave. One of the coolest Batman scenes EVER! Also having Max Lord and Ted Kord in the same issue made my freakin nervous for some reason. This was a fantastic issue overall. The team that is being assembled to assist Batman against the zombies just adds to what is going to be a much anticipated issue #3 next week! Top it off with ArtTeach's movie themed cover and you get another 5 star issue!

Thank you John. I woudn't be tooooo nervous about Max and Beetle or would I? I would totally like to see this group that's coming together as a team someday. I think they just fit and not a single super power between all of them.
Also a shout out to my boy Steve on this cover! Great job!

Excellent issue! I have to agree with John that the scene with Bats and the little boy was one of the absolute best on this sight. Completely captured the essence of that character. Really loved the fact that Ollie's going there to annoy Batman. Laughed out loud! Great job, Chris! Keep it up!

Thank you Mr.s HoM and Burchette. Brian I have to point out that though it seems you don't remember it, you suggested that line for Ollie about annoying Batman. So, I can't take credit for your good line. When I wrote this issue it seemed a lot longer than this for some reason. The next two isues are massive though. Thank you as always for reading and for your comments.

nope, don't remember. Folks, do yourselves a favor, be careful what you do in college, it can cause permanent damage in the long run.

What is cooler than superheroes fighting zombies, indeed!
This issue rocked! As good as the first one was, this one was better. Chris, you have a great handle on all these characters (especially Batman, but if Charlie ever needs a fill-in on The Question, he couldn't do any better than to call you--- I laughed outloud at that scene).
It started out a little slow, and I found myself rolling my eyes at the Batman nightmare scene--- did we really need another rehash of the trauma of Bruce Wayne's childhood?--- but then the chair turned, and Batman met Bruce, and I was struck by the power of the scene. Well done, Chris! You turned what could have been a cheesy, melodramatic cliche into something with impact!
The various newsreports were my favorite parts, and the last scene with Crane and Dee ("When Hell is full...") made my skin prickle!
ArtTeach, you came up with one flippin' sweet cover!
This series is really picking up steam. I can't wait to read next week's installment! Five stars, all around!

Thank you Dave. The Batman nightmare scene came from a discussion in the Batman workshop about who wears the mask Batman or Bruce Wayne. I remembered the JLA arc Divided We Fall where Grant Morrison wrote Bruce as a total nut job with out Batman and Batman as a pretty ineffective hero with out Bruce. I have no real point with that other than Grant Morrison rocks! The line When Hell is full...came from the re-make of Dawn of the Dead whicjh is as badass as zombie movies come. And that really is a flippin' sweet cover by artteach. Thanks again everyone.

This does keep getting better as it goes on. Though it won't happen, I also like the potential of this super team. The bat family, Green Arrow, Blue Beetle and the Question? Totally rocks.
Another fantastic cover, and there are moments of genuine creepiness that give this tale the edge it needs. And I only have to wait 'til next week for the third installment. Nice.

Thank you batrang for commenting. I really enjoy this line up myself. I would love to see them together more often. It's a team of folks with no powers and they kick as much ass as any other group could. ;D

So Crane and Dee are working together.....for now.
Pretty inventive using the "dream technology" that way.

Ah, so that's why the kid's important! Didn't see that coming! Good stuff, although I would have played out the appearance of the zombies more -- seemed very sudden, even for zombies. Everybody's rushing to Gotham for the third act. To quote another horror flick: "Who will survive, and what will be left of them?"
