I really enjoyed this issue. The villains are really being fleshed out well, and there is real tragedy and pride in Static. On top of that, it's just well written. Very good stuff.

Is Static gonna tell his dad? I thinks he needs to. And I think we need Black Lightning more than we need Jefferson Pierce for Mayor.
But then, that was the theme of the issue, wasn't it?
Good job.

I agree, he does need to have someone to help him through this. Unfortunately, he wants this responsibility all to himself and doesn't want to burden anyone else, so he's going to be stubborn about it. I don't think it will happen in the mini, but I have plenty of ideas for how I could (and hopefully will) advance the character's story beyond the mini and it will most likely include a reveal to his father sooner or later. Though, if I'm allowed to write a Static series he just might have someone else to confide in You're right, and Jeff is starting to realize that he's deep rooted in the superhero business so he's never really going to be able to leave it behind. The only problem is that he's at a point in his life where he needs to be doing something on a larger scale. We'll see where that desire leads him in the mini and beyond. Thanks for the comments guys! As always Mischeif's cover is awesome and Ramon's colors contribute to making it reach it's potential, and thanks to the editors John and Krystale for keeping their sanity while working with my submission close to deadline. I'm having a great time doing this series and I'm glad to have you all working with me.

It is a pleasure to work with you too, Dan. My thought was first off the story was bit short, but the battle between Static and the Terrible Three(maybe that could be their team name) was awesome. I loved that Static, the young newbie hero got his butt whooped. I would of loved to have read Black Lightning as an experienced hero beat up Hot Streak and his crew. Having Static get beaten up really showed his inexperiences as a hero. I liked this story regardless of its length. I'm looking forward to next month's issue that ties into that big event. Another great coloring job by the miracle worker that is Ramon Villalobos. With each cover of mine that he does, he just makes me look better and better. Thank you so much for your efforts. Exalt to you, Ramon and take a bow. Just wait till next month's cover and story of Black Lightning/Static issue 4. Till next month I am still the resident schizo, Mischief. From Krystaledragon(with no space between) I was just glad to help and contribute. I felt that the story was a bit rushed, not enough graphic details in the fight scene in my opinion and kind of short too. But I enjoyed being able dohelp out so close to the deadline. This has been the thoughts of the better half of MischiefDragon.

You both touched on the 2 things that I thought were affected by having to write the story in less time than usual: 1 - I wanted Black Lightning to take down the Heat. In fact, I've been looking back on the past few issues and I think I should have been putting more spotlight on Jeff. I'd like to hear what other people think about this, whether or not I have done my job in making the two heroes equal in the mini. 2 - It was shorter than the first 2. I don't think that the quality went down much, if at all, but there is definately more I could have put in here.

That was definately interesting. We'd established the character of Static, now we just needed some good villains to go along with it, and we got it. Now all we need is an exacting conclusion, maybe some character development and we'll have a good story. Keep it up.
