Another fantastic issue! Don, you have such an incredible way of setting the mood of this book with just a words that it makes me envious! Is it just me or do Michael and Argent have a "Steed and Peel" sort of vibe. I don't know if that's intentional, but I'm loving it. Morgue is a great villain and I can wait to see more of him! And I just can't get enough of Speed and Harriett. I just love these two characters! And I would be remiss if I didn't say: to the cover! Talk about an attention grabber! All in all, another 5 star issue chock full of more mystery then a Snickers bar has peanuts!

I agree with Brian, a real Avengers vibe going on with Mike and Argent, and this Morgue character? Yikes. The characterisation is spot on, the atmosphere like nothing else I've read this week, and basically, this is as strong an issue as it is week in and week out. Keep up the good work, Don, and I'll see you next month!

Oo, wonderful work, just like always Mourge is creepy and great already, and I've definitely grown to really love Speed. Argent's got a shimmering characterization as well (pun intended). And like the others say, you are just amazing at atmosphere. You know exactly the feeling you want the readers to have, and you make sure we feel it! Fantastic book. and I don't usually comment on the cover art, but wow such a cool piece

I'm glad to see Rue Morgue made such an impact. He was a fun character to develop, and I hope you all enjoy the revelation of his secret identity in the next issue, which continues to lead our heroes into bigger mysteries.
Yeah, there was definitely some classic TV Avengers mood going on for Michael and Argent. Argent is a fun character to write, and even I was a bit surprised at the chemistry between those two. Don't worry, they'll be popping up again in the series.
Glad you three enjoyed the issue, and wait until the slam-bang conclusion next issue, with lots of little secrets creeping up to the surface.
Take care Don

I'm in love with Argent St. Cloud. Just wanted to get that out there right off the bat . Michael Gallant can't meet his fate soon enough! Nice working of historical events around the larger fictional tapestry that is crafted herein. Will Dewey live to defeat Truman in '48 ;D...? I love how the Dr. Zero stuff is on a slow simmer (yet we see the consequences of the West Formula in the main story), but I was really excited to see thread in San Farncisco picked up! I am busying hunting down old House of Mystery backissues on the web now, so reading this title and remembering how fun those old, forgotten characters is costing me a pretty penny . Next issue: Speed to the rescue! Five stars!

I love Argent too. I was very happy in developing her (really, kind of retooling her a little from Silver, who this was supposed to be originally until I found a mention of her in an early Detective Comics...so now it's her ancestor, Argent LOL), and she's a lot of fun to write. Sorry you're rooting for Michael's end to appear, since they make such an interesting couple...but then, I can't blame you either.
Lots of little threads laying around, waiting to get tugged into place, and I'm glad you're finding them all interesting. I'm looking forward to your reaction when we reach the end of year one.
Take care Don
